Lord Nagafen

Hello and welcome to my legendary adventures in Norrath. Today we’re going to try Nagafen. We’re out here at the uh little instance creator, so let’s go ahead and do that. Say danger, we’re going to get our quest for the week right there. And then we’re going to do a difficulty zero. Uh we’re going to go ahead and create that raid and go inside. Now, um we are going to buff once we get inside, [music] but >> [laughter] >> I don’t know how this is going to go. We hit 46. I’m I did some upgrades on some stuff. I’m changing a few things around. Now, uh I’m probably going to cut out the fire giants killing. [music] Uh I’ll kill like one together and you’ll see how all slow it is and then I’ll I’ll cut the rest of it out. There’s uh I just killed one and it took me forever. So, [music] I don’t foresee me showing more than that, but you can see we’re right inside, so we’re going to quick buff real quick. There we go. And then we turn into our little wolf form and then we’re going to go into our Naggy spell set. I want to kind of talk about this. So, I upgraded superior healing to four, which gives it a inversion cast time of 8.83. Pretty nice. I should have upgraded this one, blossoming heal, but I didn’t. Uh we have drifting death four, [music] chant of frost four, chanted disease four, prolongs curtailing chant four, right? [music] We got charm five, we got chloroplast, these other ones and I believe these are all pretty low right now. Yeah. So, we’re going to have AoE slow, um theoretically if it lands. That’s the point. That’s the uh the only thing I’m not sure of. Um but we’re using chants now instead instead of uh the other stuff, right? So, it’s kind of I’ll show you how this works, right? We’re going to go drifting death and then we’re going to chance the macro works. There we go. And it’s just the melody to uh get these on there, right? And uh it’s going to go through. You can kind of see here the uh the damage, right? It’s uh Looks to be 41, 71, 39, 47. So, this is pretty decent damage, right? And this is mana-free damage, right? Uh that’s what we want is mana-free. And uh I I’ve invested a little bit of points into the critical AAs for dots and uh the critical chance for dots, but druids by default get a few percentage uh chance there. So, we’re going to kind of roll with that. You can see here I mean, it’s it’s not the fastest kill, but it’s also not the slowest right? And uh if you look at this, there’s there’s a giant there, there’s two giants there, there’s a giant there, there’s a name there, there’s a name there. Um a giant there, two giants there, two giants there, a giant there, and then we’re at Nagafen, right? So, there’s a lot of stuff like that. Now, I’m going to go ahead and set these all on a sell so I don’t have to look at the macro again. Uh what we’re going to try not on this one, but on the next one. I’m going to try charming. But I don’t think anybody wants to see me killing you know, fire giants for the next 20 minutes. And from this point on, when I do any Nagafen videos in this seri- series, no matter what class it is, I won’t show any of the fire giants. We’ll just be right at the outside of the room and stuff like that when we do that, but uh that’s kind of how I play it most of the time cuz I don’t think anybody’s here to see how to kill a fire giant. Honestly, I think everybody is more interested in uh the uh the different dragon kills and then well what we’ll do once we get 50 and we start killing these regularly those will be in a separate boss kill series I think is the way I’m going to do that just so that you know they’re they’re not intertwined in here but this is this is we’re still we’re not 50 yet we’re still going through it but you can see here we’re we’re not taking any damage I haven’t healed at all uh I have 76 health regen at the moment I am in inversion um which I don’t know if that even benefits my chance or not but uh seems to be working pretty well I don’t know um we could probably go into like over channel right uh not over channel do we even have it where is over channel there it is probably go into empower right we can’t change while we’re I don’t know what that was empower there we go let’s go into empower and see how this works now this one is the the trickier one cuz it’s I think two there’s two giants right there so but I charmed the wizard cuz uh why not right I guess they’re both wizards so there we go and then the wizard’s going to be nuking and I am uh I’m chanting so does this even do anything I don’t think empower does dots does it no I don’t think it does still looks like the same 83 damage yeah I think that’s the same damage but you can see I mean this it’s going down a little bit faster but it’s mana free now keep that in mind mana free mana is very important because things cost a lot of mana, right? Like, I’m going to be healing for 163 a pop. Um now, I think I’m going to get hit for, you know, 400 from the AoE. I’m I’m not going I’m not going resist. Uh I’m going pure just whatever happens happens. So, don’t think I’ll need resist. But, we’ll see. What do we got in this next room? There’s a All right, there’s an add in there. So, we’re going to kill this one. And then we’ll charm it to kill boss right there. But, you can see I just I got I haven’t cast heal once, I don’t think. Like, I think I’m regenerating health faster than And as I get more hit points, I’m going to get more and more [music] health regen. And watch, if I go I really need it. Here, let me make a button real quick. This is going Come on, right there. Stop song. And then we’ll make that red. song Here we go. Stop song. Boom. All right, looks terrible. Let’s fix that. Stop song. All right. And then we’re going to pop into this uh unyielding stance. Go back into melody here. And you can see I’m at 126 health regen now. So, if you look at my health, right? I am every hit, I’m going to heal that back, right? Like, it’s it’s pretty crazy the way this build starts to take off as we get higher and higher and higher. Now, you could work you could work this with different uh you know, combos and stuff like that. I Like, I’m not even doing damage shields, right? I’m doing slow instead at the moment just because I don’t have think I don’t think I have the gear to handle that, but uh let’s open the gate. All right, so this guy over here we want to charm. Get him. There we go. Now we’re going to go back over here to this guy. He’s a uh he’s a shadow knight, so hopefully we didn’t take his death touch, but there we go. All right, he’s dotted with uh with our drifting death. And he is uh getting dotted up by a whole of our chance. Now you can see we’re getting 100 crits on those. Drifting death does, you know, a few hundred there on its own, so 159 crit on that one. And as we get those chance to to level 10, they’ll do more damage, they’ll go faster. Um in the last longer, right? You can see here I’m I’m able to probably have four different chance on it once before they wear off. So you know, it’s behooves you to do that, right? You can see here I haven’t healed yet and I’m 40 84, right? And it’s re-genning. And I’m taking damage off 78 to 80. And so I’m I’m almost sustaining. Like I I don’t have the gear yet to sustain myself through these kind of fights, but it is what it is right now. If I drew a blossoming heal back into a melody, it it’s kind of wonky. You got to hit the button a few times, but back in there King Tyrannix is about to uh meet his demise. Now, uh one thing to note, uh I did love upgrade my charm, which I believe upgrades the uh maximum level you can charm. I’m not 100% sure. Uh there’s no note on the on the the thing, but this is a level 50, right? So All right, let’s dot him. We’re going to kill this one. What’s this? Polished Mithril Torque. Uh let’s just loot it, figure it out later. Um right here. So there’s another named right over here, Warlord Skarlon. He’s got his own little dude right with him, so we’re going to kill this one and take this charm pet take his charm pet in there and use it to kill him. Right? And you can see uh we’re doing pretty well here at this point. I mean, we’re at full mana. I mean, full health, almost full mana. And I think I cast one blossoming heal. >> [groaning] >> So definitely uh an interesting an interesting thing. All right, so we’re going to charm this guy. He’s a 51. And we’re going to target the Warlord again with probably behind him. I think this is probably the best. I’m going to drop drifting death and then into the chance, right? Now, uh I I I’m assuming this this is all doable with a shaman, right? I don’t think the the druid’s bringing anything unique that the shaman wouldn’t be able to do. So keep that in mind. This is this this right here is mostly Bard. >> [laughter] >> Mostly barred. Now, the warrior is doing a lot heavy lifting here, too. But, we don’t have any planar armor yet. I wanted to try to kill both the dragons, you know, at 46 before we go into the planes if we can. Uh at least see how it is. If we fail, I’m going to give it two tries, right? If we fail on uh on this, maybe three tries, depending on how far we get. But, if if we do fail, uh we’ll go farm some armor or hate, right? Like, I’m not going to I’m not going to hold myself to not do that. All right. We can bring the pet to this guy to kill him, and then we’ll charm one of those guys up there. Uh but, if you have charm, it really makes things easier. Bard is fantastic. And you can just see like the sheer amount Now, I don’t have a DPS parser. Uh I’m in I’m in Linux now, and I have not tried to set up EQ log parser in Linux. I was actually probably just going to throw my log file file at Claude and say, “Hey, build me a parser for this.” And uh see if I can build something that I can put as an OBS overlay into my uh into my uh stuff so I can kind of have it a little bit more unique and a little bit more reliable than the the way EQ log parser was working for me. All right. Let’s re-charm this guy since that wore off. And then we’re going to drift on this guy and back into chance, right? Now, by default, I believe we couldn’t chant or charm anything over 52. I believe that’s where it was uh before, last time I played. So, if if if upgrading the spell gives us another level on our charm, that will be nice. It gets us into like the 55s. That means when we get to hate, we can actually charm uh you know, a little bit more of the uh bestiary in there. So, that’ll be fun. All right. Uh we’re going to kill the pet after this one. Oh, and I got these mythril vambraces, which are seven strength. Haha, yeah, you can see that, right? Like itemization is uh is not the strong suit of uh this game at the moment because low level, you know, low level stuff out tiers high level stuff in most cases. Uh depending on where you go. But hopefully they fix that. Cuz it is it just makes it makes it less rewarding, right? As you level up and I’m still wearing the fallen gear, right? Like I switched to the mythril breastplate because uh it had a little bit more HP. And uh I was getting more of them than uh I was getting more of them than I was uh I was expecting. But definitely looking good there. Like unyielding is pretty much holding the line, right? I don’t think unyielding is going to hold the line on the boss. We’re probably going to be in inversion on Nagafen, right? Just so I can fast cast and then if it goes absolutely bonkers or I’ll probably go into recovery. Now, I’m doing this all in defensive, right? Like I don’t have the gear. I’m not even to the armor cap yet. I have a 402 armor cap and I’m not even close, so uh we’re not even we’re not going to waste our time trying to not do that. All right, I’m going to charm the wizard. And then I’m going to go behind. >> [groaning] >> And we’re going to do this guy at dawn. >> [groaning] >> Come on. There you go. Perfect. And then I’m saying chance, right? Like this actually good This clear is going faster than some of my previous clears in uh the the other beta. So, uh that is fantastic, in all honesty. But, you can Oh, his charm broke. Let’s go ahead and re-charm him. But, you can see like the damage is pretty substantial, in my opinion. Um and feels feels good. If I had a better drum, it might do more. If we’re lucky, Nagafen will drop his drum and the cloak, and we’ll be happiest happiest little puppy in the world. Otherwise, uh you know, uh we might get lucky with uh Vox dropping her belt or her horn. Um we’ll see when we get there, but so so good. There we go. Is it crap? I don’t know. All right. We have That’s a tour up there. We’re not going to bother with that, so leave kill him. Now, he’s He didn’t even use any mana. Look at this This didn’t even use any mana. What the hell? Now, if you remember from the Yell Yell fight, he used all his mana. Um he was he was chucking chucking nukes at us as fast as he could, but uh you know, definitely uh this regen AA is super strong, so as we get more and more health, we’ll get more and more regen. And um you know, we might do some tweaking with our any slots. Like, I’m probably going to be going dual wield uh as we get towards uh Sky. Um I was hoping to get a serpent’s tooth, but uh dual wield is probably going to be what I need to free up one of my any slots to actually put something else in there. And uh put my bard stuff on the main hand. I wish I could do the bard stuff on any slot. I really wish the exaltations could go anywhere you want and you could just mix and match them however the hell you want it. I wish it was more like that, a little bit more freer, a little bit more of your choice. But you know, it is what it is. All right, let’s charm you. There we go. I’m going to turn back around here, get this guy. Going to drop drifting death, same combo. Now if I was playing a shaman instead, oh, I got attacked by another one. All right, let’s go over here. This is a named. >> [groaning] >> If I was playing a shaman, I would just do shaman poison dots, right? So it is going to turn there. And now the cool thing is about our most of our chance that we have or not our chance but our two AOEs that we have in our our aura here is that they are hitting everything and they do a decent amount of damage. This one’s doing 88 crits. The other one uh 47 normal. 39 normal. So it’s just the damage adds up. Right? You kind of see here where we’re taking we’re taking damage now, right? Like if finally finally these guys are you know, doing enough damage that we can’t regen past it but you see we’re fighting. Our regen is fighting. Now did we lose chloroplast, right? Is that what happened? Yeah, that’s what happened. We lost chloroplast so let’s recast chloroplast. >> [groaning] >> There we go and there we go. Awesome. And we got a improved damage shield mask, right? So let’s go link that real quick. And that is an actual upgrade for me. That is a improved damage two nine intelligence nine wisdom mask versus my iron visor of [\h__\h] So, there we go. Let’s get drifting deft on this guy. And that’s the last fire giant. After that, we got to kill the charmed one after this. So, There we go. That gives us some improved damage. Now, that is not going to affect anything I have. Uh it would affect procs, I believe. But, uh I don’t have a proc. Wait, hold on. Hold on. I think I can get a proc real quick. Let me uh let me see if I can do this. Did I put it in the bank? All right. We got earth shaker. Let’s take this out. Uh live trying to upgrade stuff here. Okay, we take this one. I don’t think I have enough emotes for this. This is a Yeah, I can’t get it to rank two. That’s how good this build is, right? All right. Now, that gave us a significant mana boost right there. I don’t even know why we’re missing so much mana. >> [laughter] >> I don’t remember casting anything. >> [music] >> Uh maybe the you You we gained 14 wisdom along with another nine wisdom, right? Um that should be good and yeah, I think we’re we got everything good. Let’s I think we should rebuff. Uh I I typically would probably hold off on rebuffing if we killed faster. Uh but we didn’t. So, let’s do that. We we got like 1% a kill. I mean, I got 26% in just getting here. Uh so, that’s good. So, there we go. Quick buff. Just took a little bit more mana than I was expecting. We’re going to go back into our Nagafen spell set. Now, I’m going to have the exact same spell set for Vox except I’m going to switch Chant of Frost into Chant of Flame >> [music] >> and it should work. And then at uh a little bit higher level, we will uh switch out probably curtailing chant for the poison chant. Uh I might have to uh tweak uh some other stuff around, too. All right, look at how that looks good. All right. Once we get 100% mana, we’ll do this. All right, so we’re going to go I think we can just go straight in with inversion, maybe. Let me see here. What do what I got here? Like, I’m not going to cast anything, honestly. Overchannel? Yeah, let’s do overchannel for now and then we’ll figure that out later. All right. Uh in all honesty, I felt pretty good. I was a little bit nervous of how this build would perform, but uh it performed well.
