October 2026 Everquest Test Server Patch Notes

The October 13th test server update. Parcels take up to 25 items at once with a Shift click, and a poison slow of 66% at its top rank makes the Rogue look like a real option for group play. Alongside that, Shadow Knight and Magician fixes, Rogue focus changes, a bigger progression server experience bonus, and a pile of crash and interface fixes.

The October 13th test server update, and the headline is parcels: you can put multiple items in one package, up to 25. The part that held my attention is a poison slow, 66% at the top rank, which makes the Rogue look like a real option for slowing in a group. The rest is class and spell fixes, a bigger experience bonus on the progression servers, a handful of crash and interface fixes, and a note that the next patch should land on the 21st.

Parcels Take a Stack

The change the whole update is built around.

  • You can send multiple items in one package. Hold Shift and left click each item you want to include, and one parcel takes up to 25.
  • The modifier key can be changed. Shift, Control or Alt, set in the general tab of the options window.
  • Sending from a stack asks for a quantity every time. Each selected item prompts you separately, so a big batch means a lot of clicking.
  • The Community Merchant has new rewards, bought with Adventure Journals. It is a joint initiative that runs through Discord, and the EverQuest Discord server has the details.

The Poison Slow

The one I want to look into properly.

  • The slow percentage and poison counters were updated for most ranks. The first rank is unchanged, and the intermediate ranks were rebalanced to improve the slow.
  • Rank 14 is the strongest, with a 66% slow and 36 counters, going by what I read out.
  • The counters are a measure of how much healing it takes to remove the slow. That is how I read them, and I would not lean on it.
  • It makes the Rogue a viable slower, which is new to me. I do not know the class well, so I have more research to do.
  • It opens a group option: bring a Druid in place of a Shaman, since the Rogue slows and the Druid adds damage.
  • I do not know when these ranks become available, so how much it helps solo Rogue play depends on when the first rank arrives.

Class and Spell Fixes

Shadow Knights, Magicians and Rogues each get something.

  • The Shadow Knight AC effect moved to a different spell line to avoid conflicts with other buffs. The spell name is garbled in the captions, but the point is more room to stack.
  • Magician focus is fixed. One of the fire focus AAs was stopping all of its ranks from focusing a fire spell and the rest of that line. I always felt that AA gave me very little, so this is nice.
  • New ranks of Energy Attunement and Expanded Mind. They raise maximum health and mana, with the regeneration caps I heard as 45 and 171. Those two figures are as the captions gave them.
  • Rogue gets mixed news. The Escape AA no longer grants a free rank automatically after unlocking Shadows of Luclin, which I did not like.
  • The rest for Rogues is good. A discipline now focuses its entire line, and a second focus AA was fixed so all its ranks properly focus the Marked effect and the Easy Mark spells.

Servers, Fixes and Crashes

A long tail, and the experience bonus is the interesting part.

  • Progression servers get 50% more AA experience bonus, on both the AA and the evolving AA bonus. It reads as 175% now, rising to 200% in House of Thule, 225% in Ring of Scale and 250% in Claws of Veeshan.
  • That might bring a quiet server back into play. I mentioned Frost River as the one that has stayed popular regardless, with the name as the captions gave it.
  • A mushroom drop that was not dropping is fixed, from a quest item. The names came through too garbled to quote.
  • A City of Mist spawn problem is fixed, where a placeholder line and its elite named were filling the area with very dangerous NPCs.
  • Raid members now get achievement and quest credit when an NPC is killed. Some were missing it before.
  • The Velious helmet no longer flashes a plate helmet on classic models when you change zone or race.
  • Two crashes are fixed: a client crash after a Direct3D device resource leak, and a world server crash while processing real estate.
  • A zone about to update now shows an on-screen notice, and the emote command puts a special character after the player name to mark a line as an emote.
  • The client stops answering random mouse button release events when the cursor is over the game window. I think I hit this while holding the right button in a borderless window, so I am hoping it is the same bug.
  • Interface: the equipment set checkboxes on the character tab move to the left, and items no longer disappear from an overcrowded inventory after changing or loading the interface.

The Short Version

  1. Hold Shift and left click to put up to 25 items in one parcel.
  2. The top rank poison slow is 66%, which makes the Rogue a possible slower. Availability of the ranks is unknown.
  3. Shadow Knight AC moves to a new spell line, and Magician and Rogue focus AAs are fixed.
  4. The Rogue Escape AA loses its free rank after Shadows of Luclin.
  5. Progression servers get a 175% AA bonus, rising to 250% in Claws of Veeshan.
  6. Two crash fixes, one client and one world server.
  7. Expect the next patch around the 21st. I have not seen the beta content yet.

Congratulations on the EverQuest One test update for 10/13/2026. I’ve already reviewed it and I can say that there are some good points here. So, the main thing: now you can send multiple items in one package. Details below, but it seems you can send up to 25 items. Oho. This is simply great news. Items: Added several new rewards from the community merchant. They can be purchased for adventure journals. This is their joint initiative, which they run on Discord. You can learn more about this on the EverQuest Discord server. Crafts: creating poisons. Updated the slow percentage and poison counter for most ranks of Meridian’s Sloth Poison Strike. The first rank remained unchanged. Rank 14 now offers the most powerful slow percentage. And also the highest number of poison counters: 66 % slow and 36 counters. The counter is simply an indicator of how much healing power is required to remove this slow. All intermediate ranks have been rebalanced to improve the slowdown percentage. So it seems the thief is now a viable class for slowing down. This is quite interesting. I’ll have to do more research because I don’t know much about thieves. But if a thief can slow enemies, it opens up new possibilities for group play. You can take a druid instead of a shaman because a thief slows down and a druid can deal more damage, right? So, there are a few interesting things to notice here. I don’t know exactly when these ranks and all that stuff become available. So you need to learn a little more. But it’s really good that thieves will now have this option. Maybe this will improve solo play as a thief a bit, depending on when the first rank appears. Quests and Events: Fixed an issue with Doom Shriek’s Twittering Fungus not dropping from Twittering Fungus Cap items. Spells: Shadow Knight’s AC effect has been moved to the Torrent of Suffering Recourse line to avoid conflicts with other buffs. This is very good. More stacking opportunities. AA: Added new ranks for general AA for all classes, an “energy tuning” that increases your maximum health as well as maximum health regeneration to 45. Mana classes, Expensive Mind, mana regeneration to 171, and for the mage, an issue with the focus AA “Capricious Fire” that prevented all ranks from properly focusing “Fickle Conflagration” and all spells in the ” Chaotic Fire” series has been fixed. Oh, that’s very nice. I always felt like this AA didn’t give me much, but it’s pretty cool. Rogue: Updated the “Escape” AA archetype to no longer automatically grant a free rank after unlocking ” Shadows of Luclin.” This sucks . Focus AA has improved the Twisted Chance discipline to now focus the entire Twisted Chance discipline line. This is very good. It’s nice that scammers are getting some attention here. Fixed an issue with the “Extended Easy Mark” focus AA that prevented all ranks from properly focusing the “Marked ” effect and all “Easy Mark” series spells. Okay, sounds like a good bug fix. NPCs: Fixed an issue in City of Mist where black rivers and the elite names they spawn were cluttering the area with very dangerous NPCs. Overseer: Added “Terror of Luck” , “War”, and “Song” to the Outer Brood poison crafting materials to their corresponding words. This has been a problem for a long time. I’m glad this was resolved. So the cheaters really do get some love. What is happening? Okay, on the progression servers, the AA experience bonus and the evolving AA experience bonus have been increased by 50% , so it’s now 175%, and it will increase to 200% in House of Thule, 225% in Ring of Scale, and 250% in Claws of Veeshan. Wow, that’s a significant change. Frost River might be back on the menu again, guys. Wow, this is crazy. And this server has been highly popular all this time, nothing has shaken the population of Frost River. Miscellaneous: Updated achievements, elemental planes, and Plane of Time, making some components optional. Fixed an issue where raid members could not receive achievement or quest credits when killing NPCs. Classic character models using the Velious helmet will no longer briefly display the plate helmet when changing zones or races. Fixed an issue that caused the game client to crash after a Direct3D device resource leak . Fixed an issue that could cause the world server to crash while processing real estate. Added on- screen notification when a zone is about to be updated. Updated the emote command to include a special character after the player name, marking the message as an emote. Interface: Fixed a bug where the game client would respond to random mouse button release events if the cursor was over the game window and the button was pressed. Interesting. I think I had this problem where I was holding down the right mouse button and the cursor seemed to fly off the screen, because it’s a borderless window, you know? And this, and this, and then it resets my window . You’ve probably seen it in my videos about Lothar. This happens all the time . I hope this fixes the situation. Now you can send multiple items in one package. To do this, hold Shift and left-click on all the items you want to send. You can change the modifier key to Shift, Control, or Alt in the general tabs of the options menu. Please note: when sending items from a stack, you will be asked for the quantity for each selected item each time, okay? You can send up to 25 items in one parcel. Moved the checkboxes for equipment sets in the character tab in the inventory to the left side. Fixed an issue where items in an overcrowded inventory would disappear after changing or loading the character interface . Okay, so we have updated animations, updated inventory, updated options window. That’s it. This looks like a nice little patch. It should be fine. I haven’t watched the beta content yet. I’ll take a look. Let me think, I’m not logged in so I can’t see it. So we’ll do it. We’ll do it another day . I think I can show it on video. I don’t think there’s a non-disclosure agreement on the test server, so maybe we’ll consider creating a description of the updates for the beta server. But it looks good. October is going to be cool. I think this technical break will be on the 21st . So, I believe that’s when the next patch will be. So, expect that next week. Thank you very much for watching, and have a wonderful day.
