June 2026 Everquest Test Server Patch Notes
Progressive spell lines rebuilt for five classes, mercenaries meaningfully buffed, and Laurion's Song goes free to play. Plus Hardcore Heritage, which puts an Ancient Cloak of Flames back in reach.
A genuinely substantial patch. Progressive spell lines get rebuilt for five classes on the same pattern, where rank one now matches what rank six used to be, mercenaries get the first real buff in a while, and Laurion's Song goes free to play, which puts 125 within reach without paying. The advanced loot window also quietly gets prepared for personal loot, which is Lethar showing up in the patch notes months early.
Progressive Spells, Five Classes
All on the same pattern.
- Rank one now equals the old rank six, and every rank above that is a straight upgrade. That applies across Cleric, Druid, Shaman, Necromancer and Wizard.
- Hate modifiers now scale with damage dealt rather than sitting at fixed values.
- Necromancer taps are set to 75% with consistent caps, so tap damage rises with every rank.
- Berserker's rage line spreads its damage over more strikes, which stops it hitting the damage cap and wasting output.
- This is a continuing sweep, catching up class after class over several patches.
Mercenaries Get Better
Which matters more now that boxing is off the table.
- Caster DPS mercenaries get more spell focus damage, and the restriction stopping it applying to area effect spells is removed.
- Melee DPS mercenaries get higher level Thieves Eyes, Vision and Sight at 96 and 117.
- The area effect change is the big one, since that restriction was the thing holding caster mercenary damage down.
Fixes Worth Knowing
Several are quality of life rather than bugs.
- Casting while mounted: a spell that requires standing now fails without burning the item's cooldown.
- Use target while holding an item now prioritises trading with merchants and guild masters rather than interacting with them.
- Trials of Smoke no longer teleports you repeatedly on zone in with a full group.
- Oasis of Fear no longer breaks when the kill and investigate steps trigger at once.
- Oasis of the Jungle: die to the first barrel and you can now hail the frenzied gorilla to reset the errand.
- Shield of Elder Bark, Bark Hide Barrier and Verdant Keep move from type seven to type eight augment slots.
- Avoidance abilities like Shield Flash and Deflection are working again.
- Echo of Hate wax oozes drop from a 50 radius back to 40, after May raised them from 30.
The advanced loot window is being prepared for personal loot, which is groundwork for Lethar appearing in a patch two months ahead of the server. I have been talking smack about that server, and I am changing my mind: after the Legends beta I actively want EverQuest with personal loot, provided they do it the Legends way, where everyone in the group gets an item rather than a chance at one. That is the only version of it that is fair.
Hardcore Heritage
The part with something worth farming.
- It makes levelling harder if you are new, since these zones come back at a higher level version for the duration.
- Phase one, June 3rd to 16th: Blackburrow, Cazic Thule, Ruins of Guk and Unrest, up to level 80.
- Phase two, June 17th to July 7th: Crushbone, Permafrost, Mistmoore and Nagafen's Lair.
- Nagafen's Lair is the one to note. During Hardcore Heritage it can drop an Ancient Cloak of FlamesEverQuest Legends

Hello and welcome to some EverQuest test test server patch notes update. All right, so we’re today we’re going to talk about the test server and how it nice patches. All right, I can’t hear my music. So hopefully you can. >> [laughter] >> All right, June 9th, 2026 highlights updated the progressive spell lines for cleric, druid, shaman, necromancer, and wizard. See the spell descriptions down below for more details. Lauren Song expansion is now free to play. Uh I believe that means now you can free to play to 125, so that’s pretty nice. Uh that is uh pretty nice. That’s That’s one of the best expansions, so uh highly recommend going through there if you can. Uh items, the shield elder bark bullwark bark hide barrier and verdant couple should now have a type eight augment slots rather than type seven. All right, I guess those are raid items. When placed in housing, Frost River saber tooth cat mount should now respect movement options. Quests and events, trials of smoke mission uh fixed players being uh teleported repeatedly when first zoning in if their group is full. Year of the Darkpaw Oasis of Fear heroic adventure is fixed an issue where progress could break when you kill and investigate simultaneously. Oasis of the Jungle heroic adventure, players who die to the first barrel and miss the update can now hail the frenzy the gorilla to reset the errand. Perfect. Spells, updated uh dichotomic rage line of abilities to spread damage over time more over more individual strikes in order to avoid cases where the damage cap could be exceeded. Also, increase the hate override values that were not previously updated. While mounted, casting spells or casting a spell that requires you to be standing will fail and no longer put the item on cool down. What? All right. >> [laughter] >> This This is an interesting thing. I don’t I don’t can’t think of any spell that requires you to be standing while with the like I but I guess I haven’t casted many on mounts, so it’s That’s an interesting one right there. I figured, you know, being mounted would still count. Wizard, adjusted the aggro existing progressive abilities to fix the three ways that they’ve been falling behind in both content and other abilities. Rank one of the new abilities equal to rank six of the previous. And all the ranks are upgrades. Change the hate modifier on these values to scale damage dealt. Necromancer, increased the damage dealt by their progressive ability. Set the tap percent to 75% and set consistent caps so that the tap damage will increase every rank. Like other progressive abilities, rank one is now equal to six. Priest, adjusted existing progressive abilities to fix the three ways that they had fallen behind. Rank one is now equal to six and the others are upgrades. All right. Um mercenaries, increased spell focus damage of caster DPS mercenaries and remove the restriction that prevented it from applying area of effect spells. Oh, wow, that would be nice right there. Melee DPS mercenaries now have access to higher level versions of Thieves Eyes at at 96 and 117. Oh, that sounds like another little upgrade there. Uh see, the using the {{}slash} use target command while holding an item will now prioritize trading with merchants. What? Automated trading with merchants. Uh and guild masters instead of interacting with them. I didn’t even know there was use target command. Maybe I did and I just forgot about it, but uh that’s an interesting. Uh Laurion’s Song expansion is now free to play. We talked about that one already. Enabled free transfers of Mangler and other servers. And UI made a fix for non-US keyboard layouts and putting an extra character when zoning. Added advanced loot window preparation for personal loot changes. Oh, Lothar. Now, I I’ve been talking smack about Lothar, but after playing EverQuest Legends I’ve I’ve gotten a new a new uh desire to play EverQuest in uh personal loot. Like I I I’ve only I literally only played Frosty once. Uh I I had such a bad experience and then I’m I’m in the beta for uh Legends, so it’s like really hard for me to want to go back after playing that, right? But uh you know, maybe Lothar might be uh a fun shot in the dark there to try, but uh definitely EverQuest in personal loot seems the way to we be the way to go if they do it the way that Legends did it. Uh meaning that you kill a boss, everybody in the the the thing gets, you know, a random item from the thing, right? Like it’s not uh it’s not like it you know, a random chance to get an item. It’s everybody gets an item. Uh it’s the only way it’s really fair. Previously updated fixed an issue that was preventing charms from Tides of Time from working as intended. Fixed an issue that would not offer all available level decreases when speaking with the Priest of Discord. Worn equipment will no longer be placed in bags if the item is associated with an expansion that is not been launched on the server. Echo of hate raid reduced the radius of the wax oozes. The original radius was 30. And a change in May made it 50. This reduces it to 40. >> [laughter] >> Fixed an issue on Viniki that caused challenges to not available evaluate levels properly. Avoidance abilities like shield flash deflection. Deflection should now be working again. Reverted previous changes when the camera was mounted. Frost River corrected some instances where merchants merchants were available but not selling relevant tomes for Berserker. Frost River added the Berserker Beastlord, I mean, tome of bestial fury to Bakarv’s inventory. All right. So, that’s pretty nice little patch of there coming out I believe next week. I’m a little late on this because life, but uh definitely coming out. Let’s see if there’s any [clears throat] other news going on in EverQuest right now. Let’s see here. Frost River’s live. Yeah, we played that. It’s fun. See here. All right. So, here’s another merge that’s coming on. Uh hardcore heritage is apparently going right now. And there was an experience bonus on Memorial Day. All right. So, our C Mangler is going to be merged into Aradune. Any characters on Mangler will be accessible from Aradune. Uh this To complete this work, there will be up to 12 hours of downtime for all EverQuest servers. Uh see here. This is going to be a July 15th. So, yeah. Everything, you know, everything transfers, right? So, if you everything you have on Mangler will be on Aradune, right? If you have a name conflict, whoever logged in last, I think that’s it. I think that’s the way it works. Hardcore heritage. Let’s see here. Uh it’s back. So, Hardcore Heritage is is a interesting event, right? It makes it hard to level if you are a new a player, but uh phase one June 3rd to June 16th. So, a few more days on that one. Uh three more days. Uh character up to level 80 can go into Blackburrow, Cazic-Thule. Um Uh let’s see here, Ruins of Guk on state of unrest. And you’ll get a higher level version, right? From June 17th to 7th, Crushbone, Permafrost, Mistmoor, Nagafen’s Lair. All different. Now, the Nagafen’s Lair is a good and interesting to put on because you can get a ancient cloak of flames to drop, which will give you the highest rank of overhaste uh a a a clicky. So, definitely uh if you don’t have that, go farm that. Which uh I guess maybe I need to go do that >> [laughter] >> right here now. Uh and then City of Mist, June 3rd to 7th. Uh let’s see here, 125 is uh so, the whole time. June 3rd to July 7th. Uh City of Mist, 125 if your outer brews are unlocked, uh go there and uh enjoy yourself. Apparently, some of the weapons there are better than the stuff that you can get in Shattered Row from what I understand. Uh but I’m not 100% sure on that. I have not looked at it, but uh definitely nice there. But, that is the EverQuest um notes and news for uh for now. >> [laughter] >> This patch will go live uh I believe next Wednesday. So, like whatever that day is Wednesday-wise, and uh they announced the downtime actually. They did it on Discord. Let’s see if they did it on the Yeah, server downtime June 17th. So, uh June 17th is the next patch, which is 4 days from today. Um but there we go. That is the patch notes. If you guys have any any questions or comments, if there’s something I missed that you know, didn’t get talked about, but there’s definitely uh some changes coming. So, thank you very much for watching and please have a fantastic day.
