My Plans for the Pre Order Beta - Everquest Legends

A full levelling route from level one to the raid bosses, plus the class-picking argument for anyone new to EverQuest. Why I primary Shaman, warrior against shadowknight, and the case that Drain Soul is the best spell in the game.

Episode18

The last video of the closed beta, made the night before the open one, and the most useful hour of planning in the run. It is a full levelling route from level one to the raid bosses, a class-picking argument aimed at people who have never played EverQuest, and a long case for why Drain Soul is the best spell in the game. I had around half the classes at or near max by this point, so it is tested rather than theorised.

Planning Levelling route Class picking New player advice Iksar start
First two picksA tank and a healer
Best healersCleric and Shaman, Druid close
My buildShaman primary, a tank, Necromancer at 11
Start zoneNew Sebilis expedition, as Iksar
Go to Plane of Hate atLevel 46

Your First Class Locks You In

The thing new players will not realise.

  • Your first class is your primary, and it is the only class you can ever slot in the primary position of a loadout.
  • It locks your race too. I started the closed beta as a gnome and spent the whole run limited by it.
  • Pick a tank and a healer as your first two if you are new. That is the recommendation I lead with.
  • Cleric and Shaman are the best healers, with Druid not far behind.
  • I am primarying Shaman, deliberately, because shaman appears in most of my builds. Locking it into the primary slot frees the other two for everything else.

Warrior or Shadowknight

I talk myself through it on camera and do not fully land.

  • Warrior takes 5 percent less damage off the top, has a higher AC cap and a higher soft cap. On paper it is the better tank.
  • Warriors get triple attack. Shadowknights do not. I check this live and call it a compelling reason to reconsider. Berserkers get it too.
  • Cleave is disappointing. It hits multiple targets while dual wielding but does pitiful damage on my own parses.
  • Bash and Cleave do not stack, so a warrior is really trading Bash for Cleave rather than gaining an ability.
  • Reave is the shadowknight draw. Fifteen second cooldown, around 300 damage, independent of haste and weapon speed. You only need to be swinging.
  • Soul Abrasion is the other one. Augmented by unholy, it raises what life taps and Scream of Death return by 200 percent, and Scream of Death is an AoE life tap.
  • I was 100 percent warrior until Plane of Hate changed. Warrior armour used to come off the mummies there; now armour is spread across the planes by slot, so the convenience argument evaporated.
  • Both have unannounced upgrades coming. My actual plan is to level both and go with whichever gets its promised changes first.

Paladin is deliberately deferred to my second unlock. Doing it properly means Soulfire, Fiery Avenger and sky weapons, and I do not think the beta window is long enough.

Why Shaman and Necromancer Together

People kept asking, so I open the spellbook.

  • The unbounds stack. At 50 the shaman one adds 30 percent critical damage to dots and the necromancer one adds crit chance, which I read as around 15 percent to crit on top of the damage bonus.
  • Bonded Death is a life tap over time, 80 a tick over 54 seconds before any upgrade.
  • It stacks with Slug's Healing because one is a dot, so you run both at once. Land Bonded Death on two mobs and you get two streams of it.
  • Necromancer can wait until 11. Both shadowknight and necromancer get life tap at level one, life spike comes in the single digits, and the shaman minor heal covers the rest.
  • Shaman also brings Chloroplast and Alacrity, which I count separately from the dots.
  • I concede the overlap with shadowknight rather than arguing around it, and say I am banking on the unannounced changes to justify it.

Drain Soul Is the Best Spell in the Game

My claim, argued at length, with a prediction attached.

  • Best spell after Promise Renewal, which is how I phrase it, and I mean it literally.
  • 1,200 damage on a crit heals you for 1,200. It is a twofer, and that is the whole argument.
  • At rank seven it was already down to 130 mana. I dump every mote I have into it on camera to push it further and shave the cast and recast times.
  • It makes a dedicated heal a wasted spell slot. Salve heals more per cast, but you are also removing that health from something trying to kill you.
  • The upgrade system is not even finished. Once damage scaling lands I expect it to hit 500 or 600, so 1,500 on a crit.
  • I predict it gets nerfed, and say so plainly.
  • It was already my primary heal in the difficulty four content I had been running, with Stoicism as the only supplement and no dedicated heal cast at all.

Iksar, and Why Not Ogre

I consider ogre for the unlock and reject it.

  • Ogre brings stun immunity, which is the real perk, plus strength and stamina and not much else.
  • Iksar brings innate AC and innate health regeneration, which is what I want given the build bleeds health constantly.
  • Lich, cannibalize and Reave all cost health. Reave alone takes 3 percent per use, which is why the regen matters more than the stamina.
  • The stat gap closes with gear and shaman buffs. Stat caps are 510 and I walk my own gear to show how close upgraded items get.
  • I would never actually play an ogre, which is the honest version of the reasoning.

New Sebilis Is the Best City

The convenience argument, made zone by zone.

  • Every spell vendor is in one place. Magician, necromancer, druid, cleric, shaman, enchanter and wizard together, with beastlord, shadowknight, ranger, paladin and bard nearby.
  • Smithing and tailoring vendors, the bank down one hallway, and every guild master where Origin drops you.
  • Origin comes around level five, which makes the whole city a one-button return.
  • Compare the alternatives: Freeport is three zones, Erudin, Kaladim and Felwithe are two each, and Kelethin is technically one but spread across the trees.
  • It sits right below Freeport, so the translocator network to Faydwer, Odus, Qeynos and Kaladim is immediately available.
  • Guk, Cazic Thule, Plane of Fear and Nagafen's Lair are all close.
  • The zone is not even finished. There is a sealed door with something behind it, which is part of why I want to be there.

The Route, One to Forty

Three dungeons and a breastplate.

  • North Ro and East Commons to about five or six.
  • Befallen from five to 25 or 30. A leather set usable by everything except necromancer, and the Baron's Blade, which is worth staying for an upgrade.
  • Then Neriak for Journeyman's Boots. Not required, but getting them here saves camping cyclopses in Ocean of Tears and running the Rathe Mountains quest later.
  • Each of Befallen, Blackburrow and Neriak has a clicky, and that is my reason for visiting all three. Befallen's is a dispel and is close to free on the bottom floor.
  • Blackburrow is worth a stop for a few slots, but the mob at the entrance makes it feel like a level 10 zone, so Befallen goes first.
  • Cazic Thule for a Rubicite Breastplate. An HP regen any-slot item you cannot remove, which I rate highly for early game, plus the components for a Dark Forge set.
  • Then it thins out badly. Nagafen's Lair, Lower Guk and the Hole at 40 plus, and I say I know of no open world zones beyond those worth a higher level character's time.

On class armour: a crafted 22 AC, 25 HP breastplate is strong at 25, and the full Dark Forge set comes to 98 AC with 22 stamina. The component quests are quick if you want them.

Plane of Hate at 46

My favourite zone, with an actual walking route.

  • Port from Oasis of Marr. The clicky is at the top of the tower in the centre, next to the void lane. Make the instance once you are inside.
  • Follow the wall out of the entrance, wait for the roamers to pass, then work the rooms one at a time, upstairs and back down.
  • Kill the chest. It is worth doing now that they no longer dispel.
  • The church area is safe to clear solo. The mini boss that spawns there does not appear in a private instance, so it is just the clerics and the spy golem.
  • Two to four percent a kill depending on difficulty. Start at zero and work up until you find your ceiling.
  • The upper area is casters. Enchanter and mage mobs with damage shields, and the dark elves that drop legs are around 55. Wait on those.
  • Do not trust the safe corner on the map. I am blunt: that is a lie, and there are roamers up and down the whole zone wall.
  • The wiki is out of date on drops, because the armour was redistributed across slots and planes.

Fear, Sky, and the Raid Order

What comes after 50.

  • Plane of Fear at 50. Zone in, get to the wall immediately, kill whatever follows you round it. The temple knights and warriors drop breastplates.
  • I have never tried Fear solo, only grouped through D0 to D4, and say the grouped open world version is an experience worth having.
  • Sky is not a day one zone. I have done it around 20 times and call it rough. Level 50, and maybe day one if you have a group. The entrance clicky is on the rock in the water off the East Freeport docks.
  • The Hole is the first raid boss. Master Yael is a pushover, and the Improved Healing III item drops there.
  • Then Nagafen, then Vox. The Vox arena was nerfed, so more builds can manage it.
  • Full loot on the first kill of the week per difficulty, so kill them as many times as you can and upgrade.
  • My retail goal is every raid boss on D0 in week one.

Two Detours Worth Making

Small, specific, easy to miss.

  • Runnyeye has a mana preservation item and I recommend it strongly. You may not cast much at 50, but every new character you level benefits.
  • Runnyeye is apparently very good experience, which I have not tested myself. Expect trains.
  • Kedge Keep has the highest experience modifier in the game, and is probably the best levelling zone, and I do not like it at all.
  • If you go to Kedge, get the fishbone earring first from a named on the Qeynos Hills coast near the Surefall Glade line. He respawns roughly every five minutes despite the listed timer.
  • Get it even if your class has enduring breath. Things dispel, and you do not want to be thinking about it underwater.

Where Not to Go

A short list, firmly held.

  • Faydwer, essentially all of it. I suffered through Steamfont and Greater Faydark as a gnome and would not repeat it.
  • Unrest is a good zone with outdated items, beaten by Befallen, Blackburrow and Neriak, and its 10 to 35 band overlaps all of them. A worthwhile clicky would change my mind.
  • Mistmoore only for earrings or Soulfire hilts. Paladins will be there a long time.
  • Crushbone, nothing. I say Blackburrow and Neriak eclipse it outright.
  • Splitpaw only if you are doing Soulfire.
  • On newbie zones: Freeport is the best, the Feerrott ogre zone is terrible, and Innothule is annoying for the water. A troll can be in Upper Guk at level one, and honestly so can most characters.

Two Things I Say About Myself

Both worth noting.

  • I am holding guides back until launch, because writing one and having it patched the next day is a waste. The beta guides are the exception.
  • A commenter told me to stop whining. They talked it through, and I say it gave me perspective and I am making changes off the back of it.
  • Getting back into making guides is the change I name.
  • I will be on Freeport, levelling with friends, and at this point has no plans to start a guild.

The Route, Start to Finish

  1. Iksar, New Sebilis expedition. Shaman primary, a tank second, necromancer at 11.
  2. North Ro and East Commons to five or six.
  3. Befallen to 25 or 30. Take the dispel clicky and the Baron's Blade.
  4. Neriak for Journeyman's Boots and the new items.
  5. Blackburrow for the clicky and a few slots.
  6. Cazic Thule for a Rubicite Breastplate and Dark Forge components.
  7. Runnyeye for the mana preservation item.
  8. Nagafen's Lair, Lower Guk or the Hole from 40.
  9. Plane of Hate at 46. Port from Oasis of Marr, instance inside, work the wall route.
  10. Plane of Fear at 50, then Sky when you are ready.
  11. The Hole, then Nagafen, then Vox. Once per difficulty per week for full loot.

Hello and welcome to uh the my last video of EverQuest Legends beta. Uh tomorrow the open beta starts and I kind of want to go over my plan for the open beta to kind of, you know, help new players and other players just kind of know the path that I’m going to take and maybe you might want to take that path also. Now, uh the first thing you’re going to want to do is you’re going to want to pick your class and all that, right? And I recommend if you’ve never played EverQuest before, you pick a tank and a healer as your first two. Now, I’ve done uh quite a few, right? Like I’ve done uh so I have one, two, three, four, five, six, seven. Yeah, I like I got about half the classes at max level. Uh close enough that I, you know, I was done. Now, cleric is one of the best healers. Uh shaman’s one of the best healers, and druid’s pretty good, too. uh you got to really pick uh the one you want and uh stuff like that. I So I’m personally going to probably pick a shaman, right? That’s uh that’s where I’m 100% at right now. And I think I’m going to actually primary a shaman. uh after talking with several people uh and this is going to allow me to have the openness to try the build I wanted to try during the the closed beta here which was Paladin Shaman Necro. Now I’m not going to play uh Shaman Shadow Necro uh at the beginning. I’m going to do Shaman and then maybe Shadow Knight or Warrior. I haven’t decided yet. We’re going to talk about that here in a minute. Um but definitely uh definitely you know a contender. So you know once you pick your first class this is your primary class. Once you have this you can only have that as a part of your load out right? Like if we here edit my load out uh you can see here I have I have warrior and shadow unlocked. I can only pick those as my primary. So uh that limits me on what I can try combo-wise. And I feel like I have a shaman in a lot of my builds. I have bard in a lot of my builds. I have uh cleric in a lot of my builds. And picking shaman is really going to push me to be able to pick some different builds during this open beta time uh and you know try out and level them a little bit differently. Right? So that is that is an option that you have there. Uh this also locks you to your primary race. Right? I started this game as a Gnome Shadow Knight um or a Gnome Warrior, one of the two. One of the two I picked is the thing. And then I I went with Shadow Knight Rogue Bard all the way to 50. Now, uh you know, that locks you right. So, you can only be what this uh this race can be. So, you know, you got to pick your race and stuff and all that. Once you have that done, uh your your secondary your second class you get to pick at start is pretty much option. you know, whatever you want. Now, me personally, I’m doing shaman, right? This is what I’ve said. Uh, and then I’m going to take either uh warrior, shadow knight, or necromancer, right? Necromancer is the third option I’m going to do, right? So, this is the build I’m going to put. Shaman, necromancer plus a tank. I haven’t decided on which tank yet, but uh uh so that’s the thing. So, I’m going to I’m going to start the first 10 levels with the tank, though. So, uh, it’s going to probably be, uh, like I’m looking at it, you know, I’m thinking, you know, you got warrior, shadow knight, and paladin. Now, to me, paladin is not where I want to go right now. Paladin to me is my second unlock, right? Like when we hit uh, you know, you know, when we get to the next tank, right? Uh, Paladin’s strong, don’t get me wrong. Paladin’s a very good tank. Uh, but in the limited time of the open beta, I just don’t feel like I will be able to do the justice to it that I would want to do. And what does that mean? That means getting soulfire, getting fiery avenger, getting the uh the sky weapons and stuff like that. I just I just don’t think I have the time to get that done before the end of the open beta or pre-order beta. So, like that to me that leaves Shadow Knight and Warrior. Now, I’ve done a lot of Warrior uh this uh this playthrough and it is fantastic. Now, there’s some upgrades in pipeline I’ve heard about that will push Warrior to the top for me, but there’s also upgrades I’ve heard about in the Shadow Knight, you know, pipeline that are really going to push me. But I think for the build that I want to do starting out, it’s going to probably be a Shadow Knight. Uh just because of the self-p proc uh that we get. And I don’t even I don’t have any buffs on. Let me see here. Uh I think it’s in buff one, right? This might be all just uh shaman buffs. But there is a buff line and it’s augmented by unholy. don soul abrasion, right? So, this makes our life taps and our uh stuff triggered by vampiric embrace and scream of death go up by 200%. Now, scream of death is the the highest level version of this. Right now, what this does is it does an AoE life tap uh for a few hundred. I think it’s not it’s not huge, but it’s it’s an AoE life tap, which to me is pretty nice. It’s It’s not that it doesn’t go off very often. It goes off, you know, a good deal, I would say. And so, to me, that is kind of like the uh [laughter] the uh the the catalyst for me wanting to go into Shadow Knight over Warrior. Um now, I was originally 100% warrior when before the changes to Plane of Hate. And those changes to Plane of Hate were that you could kill mummies and get warrior armor. Now, the armor has now been dist distributed across all of the different uh planes. And so, you have to kill certain mobs to get in certain slots, right? And that can be in both plane of fear and plane of hate. So, the options there like the convenience of being a warrior kind of goes away with that to me. Uh, now warriors do have a 5%, you know, straight off the top mitigation. So, they’re going to take 5% damage. They’re going to have a higher AC cap. They’re going to higher have a higher uh soft cap and everything like that. So there there’s some things there that makes it warrior the best tank, but the utility, you know, that I’m getting from Scream of Death, plus the unannounced, unbound thing that that Shadow Knights might get uh that they’ve talked about to me feels like that’s going to push Shadow Knight a little bit further. But then at the same time, Warrior is getting some unannounced things also. So it’s it’s really like a fluid situation for me. Like I I’m going to level both and uh go with the one that you know gets its upgrades that you know the the the gift of the promised right you know promised upgrades right so it depends on u some of that but I feel like shadow knight is is probably going to be where I go first uh but I’m going to start with shaman as my primary so shaman shadow knight and then necro at level 11 now the reason I think I can wait till level 11 for the necro instead of taking it at the beginning is because the shadow knight heal uh life tap is is pretty good plus all the uh the I think shaman gets like minor heal and stuff. If we look at uh spells, right? Uh spells duh du du sort by level, right? So if you look at these at like the lower levels, right? So we’re going to have minor healing at level one. We’re going to have um that’s level five. Uh see this one, Shadow Knight. All right. So we’re going to get both Shadow Knight and Necro get life tap at level one. So, uh, that’s a six-point life tap, but that kills newbie mobs like almost instantly. So, it is pretty good, right? And then if we go down a little bit further, life spike at level eight, level three on the necro, right? So, uh, we’re using life spike to heal. We’re going to keep life spike. We’re probably going to use be using spellb blade in all all honesty. Um, I’m not sure when these stances become available, but we’ll probably be leveling with spell spellblade and a life tap for a good part of it. Now, uh, when do we get Reeve? I I don’t even know the levels we get these things cuz I was already 50 when they came out. So, uh, when we get Reeve, which is our, you know, a really good attack, it’s a 15-second cool down. So, it does not depend on haste. It does not depend on your weapon. You just have to swing your weapon. every uh 15 seconds. You might not even have to swing your weapon, but that’s how you get it to auto attack, right? So, uh it just depends there. I wish I wish these had like the levels on them, but I think it’s like level 10 or level 11, right? It’s pretty early in the game. Now, those those are kind of the compelling things for me. So, I really like the shaman necro interactions. And if you don’t know what that means, at level 50, both Shadow Knight and uh Shaman get these Unbounds, right? So, uh this one is I I think Unbound Cascade is Shaman and Affliction is Necro. I don’t quote me on I’m wrong, but there’s no class on here, so it’s hard to remember what it was, but Unbound Cascade gives me 30% extra uh critical damage to my dots, right? And then critical affliction gives me a 6% chance to crit. So, what does that mean? Now, if we go here to critical affliction, that’s 9%. So, what is that? 15% chance to crit with the necro shaman combo. Right, you have a 15% chance to crit your dots. We got 30% extra damage there. Here we get another 175% chance or uh extra damage to the dots. Now, I was able to like it’s leveling up. I don’t know. Let me see what the spell is called before I cuz there’s two there’s two dots called inv like EB, right? So, Invenol’s 49, but that’s not the one I’m talking about. Maybe it’s shock. No, that’s the nuke. There’s another one. It’s like in venom bolt or venom blast, something like that. I don’t know. I don’t even see it. There it is. Scale shilling. Venom of the snake. Maybe it could be venom of the snake. Let’s go with venom of the snake. So this one I was able to like kill imps in soul B just casting that once with some of this the some of these AAs and stuff which means I can like go and pull them all and just dot them all down without even trying. So there’s some interesting stuff there. Um that is pretty nice. Now one of the things that Necro provides that Shadow Knight doesn’t provide not lich. I have the wrong spell set up here. Uh because a lot of people have been asking me why why am I taking Shadow Knight and Necro? Uh there’s a lot of overlap. Now, there is overlap. I’m not going to lie. Uh definitely not going to lie, but uh I think once all of the un unannounced things go out, uh it’ll kind of make more sense. And um I’m kind of banking on that. But if it if it fails, you know, there’s two other tanks to try and there’s other classes we can try, right? Uh, let’s see. Here it is. Bonded death, right? Bonded death. That is a high level spell. Let’s look right here. So, bonded death is a heal over time, but it’s a life tap over time. So, uh, interestingly enough, it does 80 per tick, right? So, it’s 54 seconds. And I have not even upgraded this yet. Uh, far as I can tell. Yeah, I haven’t upgraded this one yet. So, uh, when the full spell upgrade system is in, bond of death is going to probably doing be doing more than 80%, right? Uh, or 80 80 damage, right? So, think about that. And then look at uh, let’s see here. Slugs healing. This one is 160 hit points every six seconds. Now, uh, you know, 80 plus 160 is a good amount of healing, right? So, we’re going to be able to pull that that healing in every uh every uh every tick, right? So, that really takes the pressure off and it really makes it a lot easier to play and a lot more fun. we’re we’re able to keep ourselves, you know, uh flowing with heals through two two spells, they stack. Uh the other healing heal over times don’t stack, but since this is a dot, right, this is going to stack. This is going to last for 54 seconds, which is about uh almost the same amount as this one. So, you can have both of these going at the same time, getting you healed. And I think if you can land bonded death on another one, you’re getting two at a time. I I’d have to look at the the how it works, but you’re you can if you land it on two mobs, you’re going to get two mobs worth of healing at the same time. So, you can really see where this this the power is starting to come in. Now, this shadow knight is not really into that focus, right? This is shaman necro interaction and uh you know there’s not a whole lot like if we look at uh shadow knight spells, right? Like if we go all the way to 50 where uh where the end is, right? Uh there’s not a whole lot here that is uh you know there’s this nuke that I don’t even memorize cuz I do dots. There’s not a whole lot that it’s bringing, right? The most that it is bringing to me is it’s bringing this uh soul abrasion, right? This is one of their uh their class abilities. Uh they’re supposed to get an Unbound, but uh it hasn’t been announced yet as far as I know. And uh it is not in yet. So as soon as it gets in, it will be pretty nice, I think. Now, there’s arguments you can pick out their classes. Now, Warrior is not going to bring anything. Uh Warrior is only going to bring Cleave, which would replace um replace Bash, right? because as as of today, Bash and Cleave don’t stack. Now, uh that might change in the future, but uh if it does, then you know, Warrior starting to, you know, then you have to compare Reeve versus Cleave. And uh as of right now, my warrior cleave, while it hits multiple targets in dual wielding, uh it does a pitiful amount of damage if you’ve seen any of my parsing compared to Reeve, which is literally like 300 damage every time it hits, if not a little bit more. I can’t remember the exact number, but you’re going to get more damage out of Reeve than you will cleave. And to me, honestly, that feels a lot better. Um, but it just depends on uh, you know, everything there. Now, one thing I wasn’t sure on, we can check it real quick. Like, this is just me yapping and talking, you know, figuring, you know, talking my my process. We’re going to talk about leveling where where I’m going to level here in a minute. I just want to see, do I get triple attack? I don’t think I do. Uh, double attack. All right. So, shadow knights don’t get triple attack. Warriors get triple attack. Berserkers get triple attack. Um you we do not get it on the shadow knight. So that that that’s a compelling reason I would say to take uh maybe the uh the warrior. Um now you can up the cleave damage by using a two-hander and stuff like that, but you’re going to lose swing swing speed with um Oh, I have the wrong one memorized. Uh I was I was Stupid me. I upgraded the uh one that snares you and that’s terrible. Uh this one will slow me right now. This kind of fits into the build a little bit more. So this is the the shaman heal over time that slows you. Now you know like let’s go ahead. Let’s look at my haste. Right. I’m at 140 haste right now. If I cast dosism on me, it takes me down to 70 because of the way they do the math on this is like broken. Uh, it shouldn’t it shouldn’t take me down that far, but uh here we are. Um, but I’m I I don’t need to I don’t need haste for Reev. I don’t need haste for Bash, right? I could have swore that was could have swore that was 7 seconds last time I looked. That’s 8 seconds. That’s so weird. I feel like some things have changed and I don’t think there was a patch but I feel like that was 7 seconds. Uh but uh you know definitely uh let me see here. Let me cast the lacrity on myself. That puts me at 175. Still eight. I don’t know what I saw there. But uh you see if we do see we’re 175 we do stoicism. still back down to 70 cuz it does not calculate right. So that is that is something I hope they fix. But uh I’m not going to hold my breath. Uh but yeah, so that’s kind of the process I’m going with for picking my class. Like I’ve I’ve done a lot of, you know, a lot of messing around and I feel like this is the combo, you know, shadow knight, shaman, necro, uh or, you know, maybe a warrior. I I I’m I’m still indec I haven’t I didn’t even try to do any any of the content with a warrior. I’ve seen other people do content with the uh warrior shadow knight or warrior shaman necro. So I know it’s it’s possible. It’s probably not, you know, hard at all. So I I just don’t feel like I need to go do it. Shadow Knight gives me promised renewal clicky every 20 minutes, right? Uh, we did that quest together. And, you know, turtling up with a shield feels right. I think I think with the sky two-hander, we could probably do that one when we get it. I I did I don’t think I got any. The only sky weapon thing I got was the warrior belt. It’s the only thing I got. Uh, so definitely a thing there. Now, um, with this, like we’re a necro, so we are a pet class. So, we do get, uh, what, uh, seven slots for the pet. And the pet is a warrior shadow knight, I believe. So, it is allowed to use all the warrior stuff, uh, or all the, uh, shadow knight stuff, right? So, you can, you know, put them there. So, you can actually go and put uh, how did they mess this up? uh right here. You can put this the indocile u or docite um you know warrior armor on here. This is the best armor in the game, right? This is the highest AC. You can put this on your pet and your pet’s going to be pretty durable, right? Um you can have your pet dual wield if you want uh and stuff cuz the the necropet has you know the higher things like that. It does proc Akisha. I don’t know what I Let’s Let’s summon one real quick. I’m not even sure what level it spawns at. It’s like the things the things that I’ve seen a lot of people care about are just not as important and uh you know like it just you don’t need it to to complete content, right? So, it’s not really it’s not as bad, right? But uh let’s get this pet summoned and we can see what level he is at level 50, right? All right, he’s a level 41, so you know, he’s he’s very limited on what he’s going to be able to proc. Uh, Yaks are just about it, right? I think that’s it. Like, I mean, like I’ I’ve been destroying all my my Earth Shakers to put them into one Earth Shaker. This one requires level 45. Uh, that’s not a click. Uh, that’s not proc. And then I think I don’t even think he’s got a blood fire on him, right? Just cuz that No, he’s got that on there. Where’s my blood fire? That is weird. Where is my There it is. Yeah, for some reason it puts them in there. So, it requires 46. That one’s not even That one even won’t proc either. So, uh definitely uh you know, you got to think about those kind of things, right? You know, what can you give your pet so he procs? those seem to proc. Um, you know, it’s not a lot, but it’s something. And you, you know, you max out the the the armor you give your pet. I gave him a 45% haste belt. You know, why not? Um, your choices, you know, could vary. But, uh, so that’s that is like how I’m picking my class as like it’s going to be shaman, probably shadow knight, and necromancer, right? We’re going to level uh shaman plus whatever tank it is. Like I might be the last minute. There might be patch notes that change my opinion, right? Like there might be a day one patch that is like, oh, here you go. Here is all the cool uh warrior stuff that we talked about and here’s all the cool Shadow Knight stuff. You know, have fun. Like that could be definitely uh something that influences my last second decision. But for the most part, like it doesn’t matter. Like I I can’t stress this enough. like a lot of things just don’t matter. Now, race-wise, I am going XR 100%. I was going to go I was going to go ogre just so I unlock ogre, but at the same time, I’m like, I’m never going to play an ogre. I’m going to play an Ixar because are the best. Uh, why are the best? All right, so ogres get stun immunity, right? Boom. Done. I have stun immunity. Everything that ogre provides me is gone. Absolutely gone. Right now, the other you could make a you could make a point that ogres provide more stamina, more strength, and more uh nothing else cuz that’s all they’re good in. I think they might they don’t have agility cuz they start at like 70 agility. They might have a little deck. I don’t think so. But uh you know, it is what it is there. like it it’s has a little bit of stamina which is going to you know equate to a little bit of hit points and stuff like that. Doesn’t matter. We have a shaman. We can buff our stamina uh as we upgrade all our gear. Uh like where is this here? Like look at this thing here. This is the engineer’s ring uh from plane of hate. It’s 10 10 stamina and plus five. Right. Uh this is uh that one doesn’t have it. This this No, it doesn’t have it. >> [laughter] >> I don’t even have a real earring on so it’s like doesn’t matter there. 22 stamina on this this breast this uh this shield. Now I believe this is from Nagafan. So imagine this at like plus four, you know, higher, right? Higher than plus4. It’s going to have almost 100 hit points on it pro towards plus 10. And it’s probably going to have like 30 stamina on it. Right? Take out these gloves. There’s another six stamina. Right now, the stat caps in the game right now are 510. Uh, so I think we’re going to get we will get pretty close in some like really good gear. You know, some optimizations on our, you know, gear like these and stuff like that. Definitely something we can really think about, right? Like imagine this this belt at plus uh, you know, plus 7 + 10, you know, right? like this is going to be like maybe 15 to 20 stamina and probably 150 hit points. It’s going to be a really nice belt. Now, you can see here I’m wearing the Shadow Knight gear, right? So, this there might be some optimization here when we swap into Shaman gear. I don’t know uh you know the lower RC, but we’re over the AC cap. So, I mean of the the soft cap that is [music] by you know a good bit. So, I don’t think it really is going to affect us much to lower our AC to increase some stats. Uh, you know, obviously some testing involved there, but I I just don’t think it would. And I don’t think he’s wearing the right ring or maybe this combo can’t wear it. Ring of the pure blood. No, he can’t wear it, but the paladin can. So, uh, definitely some, you know, things there. And this, this one has no stamina on anyway, but it has 45 hit points. So, there’s some definite changes there that I, you know, you can make and stuff like that, but stats are going to be pretty easy. Get this one here. Nothing on that, but that’s going to jack our strength up pretty good from all these different random items. Uh, there’s a belt. I believe we can switch we can probably get the the Shadow Knight belt for like 45% haste and put it in our uh any slot, right? and then take off this and where the cloak scales which is the XR hate cloak right because look how good this thing is 81 hit points 24 AC uh it’s going to be a little bit better than this one at the end right so there’s some optimization there I’m wearing a resist shield and you know arguably I could probably get away with you know dropping that unless I’m fighting dragons and then you know there’s some optimization for dragon gear that they would definitely do, right? So things like that like the ogre the the benefit of being an ogre doesn’t exist because one they get innate AC and two they get innate health regen right now. I believe the the wor health cap for regen is 30. So, uh, you want to get that as high as you can cuz we’re going to be running in lich. We’re going to be running in, uh, cannibalize, right? It’s going to take a lot of our hit points. So, plus Reeve takes, uh, what, 3% of our health every time we use it. So, there’s a lot of health going out, but we need to bring that health back. So, that’s why we have Drain Soul. I I I am arguably going to say that Drain Soul is probably the going to be the best heal. Sorry. The best heal in the game besides PR. All right. Like besides promise renewal, I think Drain Soul is the best spell. Now, it might not do the best healing. Now, that don’t don’t get me wrong, right? Like, I’m saying it’s the best because it does 1,200 damage on a crit, heals me for 1,200, right? So, this is like a twofer. And with it at what is that? rank uh rank seven. I’ve already got it down to 130 mana. [laughter] And this the spell upgrade system is not even fully in. Right, let’s here. Let’s grab Let’s grab all these. Let’s just drop them on here. All right, let’s grab all these. I don’t even I don’t even care. The server’s The server is dead. There we go. Tier eight 130 mana, right? So, it goes down even more. 1 second reuse. It’s a.7 second recast so I can cast faster. 1.3 like I could sit there and just life tap all day long. Right. Strap. What are these? Rank fours. Here we go. Doesn’t doesn’t do anything. But there’s some rank twos. What do I get to rank nine? There we go. All my moes gone. [laughter] So we got down another cast cast second. We got uh that. Now, the second part of this isn’t in yet where we’re going to get, you know, more damage out of this thing, right? So, once that gets put in, this could probably I could see this going up to maybe 500 600 damage. You know, 400 crit is 1,200. So, you crit 500, you’re getting 1,500, right? So, this is this is this is no joke going to probably be one of the strongest heals in the game. Now, you could say that I should probably drop let’s say u I could drop shadow knight and or you know ch maybe drop shaman and take wizard. Right. So now I I don’t have a slower. I’m I’m doing, you know, a more DPS build uh with uh, you know, wizard and it’s more of a pure and I’m maybe I’m going to group with people to get heals and I might get even higher crits because I’m, you know, the wizard has more crits which would just keep me alive. I could probably honestly a necro wizard plus, you know, some other class is probably going to be pretty strong, too. So, there’s some options there, right? And I I arguably think this is going to be the strongest heal in the game and they will probably end up nerfing it at some point. Uh I just I feel like that’s that’s what it is. But uh I like we we can talk about like the Salve, right? Oh yeah. 600 health uh you know 168 mana, 1.9 cast, right? 400 health, 128 mana. What is the cast? 1.3, right? And I’m doing damage to the mob. I’m killing something at the same time I am healing myself. To me, that is more value than the single target heal. I like having the heal over times. I don’t like that they’re negative on the shaman, but uh you know, like the negative effects like the slow and the snare, like I think that’s that should just go away. Like especially if I upgrade this, if I upgrade, you know, slugs healing to to rank 10, I should have no negative effects on it, right? That’s that sounds completely reasonable to me. But I feel like drain soul like I don’t even need to have salve on my bar. I don’t it’s like it’s almost like a waste of a spell slot putting super healing or salv on my bar when I have this. It’s less mana. It heal like it says it’s like 200 mana 200 health less but it doesn’t matter cuz I’m taking off that much you know off the mob, right? I’m taking their health and giving it to me, right? So, it it’s it’s a double hit. And to me, that’s more valuable than, you know, a heal that’s, you know, wasting my cast time, right? It’s, you know, minimal, right? Like, it’s absolute minimal. But to me, it’s it’s more value, right? And if you watched my shadow knight, shaman necro video against inner difficulty 4, you’ll remember that drain soul was my primary heal before the spell upgrades before that. Like it was like the primary heal and then we did a little bit of stoicism. We never cast one uh super heal or whatever I had memorized, right? That’s all we did. Uh another thing is important that shamans provide is regen right they provide chloroplast so that is that is another strong thing that we get from the shaman along with elacrity which is not as strong as uh you know it could be just because we you know we’re going to probably be slowed most of the time due to that but it is what it is right now I I think that that’s I think I’ve said enough about this like if you have any more questions about it, right? I I plan on doing how I play these class these combos uh videos, but I didn’t want to do it until the beta is over, right? Like I there’s a lot of things a lot of videos I want to make, but I I don’t want to make a video and then have them patch something the next day, right? So, uh that’s that. Now, let’s talk about leveling. Now, uh if you don’t know, the uh new Cibilus expedition is where you start as an XR. So, I’m starting as an inix. It’s right below Freeport, which is the same server I’m going to be starting on. Uh, and let’s move. Let’s make this big so we can actually see this. Now, this is this is EverQuest Legends Wiki, eqlwiki.com. Uh, and they’ve created this fantastic map of how to like where all the zones are. So, uh, as an XR, I’m going to start right here. Now, I’m I’ll talk about some different locations here, but uh we’re going to start with XR because that’s what I’m doing. This is what this video is, how I’m going to start the EverQuest Legends um pre-order beta. I keep forgetting the name of it. I don’t know why. So, right here, we’re right next to Freeport. So, we have access to the Transllocator that’ll take us to Fadeware or Otis, right? We can go from Freeport to Kenos via the translocator. We can go to Freeport to Ocean of Tears to Kaledan and from Kenos we can go to Otis, right? So we have easy access to the core of EverQuest, right? We can go this way, this way, right? Like from from here to here to Nagan’s layer is a short walk uh without any teleports, right? So definitely fine. Now, New Cibilus is close to Gak, which is another nice place to be close to, right? It’s also close to where is that? Kazakth Thul, which is a nice zone to go to. Um, definitely smart there. It’s close to Plane of Fear. Right. These are all really close relatively to, you know, how it works. All right. Now, you know, this part right here, like going you because you have to go through Kithor Forest through Riverval to get into the uh the Kenos area, right? But you can just take the transllocator, pop here at the docks and boom, two zones later, you’re in Kenos Hills and you’re ready to go into Blackboro, you’re ready to go into Perafrost, right? So, everything’s really close from this location. I feel like it’s it’s the best location. It’s a custom location. And when I say custom, [laughter] it’s really really really is custom right now. Uh the new cibilist right like we look here like this is the zone right all the spell vendors are right here. Here’s ne magician, necromancer, druid, cleric, shaman, um, enchanter, wizard, and then you go out here. Uh, there’s some more stuff here like smithing and tailor vendors. And this zone’s not even done, right? Right over here is the uh, construct. There’s beast lord spells, shadow knight spells, ranger spells, paladin spells. Got some more stuff. There’s like a door that’s sealed because there’s like creatures on the other side of it cuz they’re doing something else here. This is This is some crazy stuff and I want to be a part of it. So, bard songs right there. So, whatever class you’re going to play, you’re going to be able to come down here and pick up all your stuff. The banks right here. I think you like spawn in. I don’t have a map for this zone, but you spawn in like right over here. And then when I say spawn in, I mean you use Origin, right? So Origin’s ability everybody gets it like level five. And boom, you spawn in like I think it’s right here. I’m surprised there’s no one standing here. You spawn in right here. There’s all the guild masters you could possibly think of right here. Like this look at this guy. Look at this cute little water, you know? Like it’s this is this is this is peak EverQuest right here. All you got to do is run down the hallway here, turn the corner, boom, you’re at the bank. This is the most convenient city in the game by far. If you go to Freeport, you got to go between like three different zones to do anything. You got to go if you go to Riverval, it’s like one zone. Uh if you go to Aglock, it’s one zone, but it’s all spread out. If you go to Erdan, it’s like two zones. If you go to Kaladim, it’s two zones. Fworth is one two zones, actually. Two zones. Uh, Kelvin is I think it’s one zone, but it’s all spread across like the trees and really annoying. Halis is one zone, right? But there none of the zones are as convenient as new Symbolis Expedition. So, to me, [laughter] it’s a no-brainer. Right now, this also gives us early access to befallen. Right. So, we are in North Row. We go through the tunnel into East Commons. I feel like this should be this should be like right here. [laughter] I just feel like there’s a little bit of a thing there. But you get into East Comts, go to West Commons, you’re in Befallen. Befallen’s a level five to 25 dungeon with some very, very nice items. And that’s my plan. I plan to mess around in north row, east commons, maybe west commons, get to like level five, level six, you know, making my way through making my way through the world. Then boom, befallen. And then in befallen, I’m going to stay there until I get what I need, [laughter] which is a few. It’s going to be armor. Uh there is a set of leather armor here which uh is usable by all all my classes except necro but it you know I can still use it so it’s good. So we’re going to get to like you know I think about 25 maybe 30 if I’m trying to push a little bit of an upgrade on the Baron’s Blade. Uh Baron’s Blade is a really nice sword. Uh, we’re probably going to be ma mainhanding that or the two-hander here for a little bit. Once we’re done in befallen, we’re going to go to Nina. Right now, you’re going to probably be like, why Nina? Why Nina? Well, we’re going to pick up our J boots. We won’t. J boots are not required, but J boots are the item that drops here. That is the clickie, right? Befallen has a clickie. Uh, Black Bro has a clickie and Nina has a clickie. The befallen clickie is a dispel. We’re going to pick that up. It’s It’s like almost It’s a give me. You get to the bottom floor, it’s a give me, right? Ngina, a little bit more work to get Jooked. You got to kill the boss a few times probably, but at the same time, there’s a lot of new items. We saw when we did the Ngina video, uh, if that one’s out at this point, but uh, there’s some items in there worth getting along with the G boots. So, we’re going to, you know, spend a little time doing that, right? This is going to make us stronger in the future, uh, doing it now, right? Uh, and by getting the J boots in Nina, we don’t have to go to Ocean of Tears and camp the Cyclopses to try and get J boots and go, you know, go go all the way to Wrath Mountains to do that quest, right? That’s saves us a little time in the future for that, right? So, that’s good. [laughter] All right. So now once we’re done with that, um, you know, we’re going to probably be I would say, you know, anywhere between 30 to 35, maybe 40. It depends. Now, your options are [sighs and gasps] not that many, right? You can go to Nagafan’s layer 40 plus. You can go to uh lower guck 40 plus. You can go to whole I would say 40 to 45 plus depending on you know your build and how strong you are at that point in time. I do not really know of any [sighs] openw world zones other than those that are you know fit for higher level. Uh but the you know they exist and all you got to do is get from 40 or you know whatever level you are to 46 because the moment you hit 46 you should immediately go to plane of hate. Uh we’ll talk about that one here in just a moment. But it’s also worth noting you should come down here to uh Kazakth and farm up a rubicite breastplate. Uh the level you get to is, you know, whatever up to you, but the rubicite breastplate to me is a very nice early item. Uh I should have one in my bag still, right? I still have my raven scale, right? So rubicide breast. I only got mine to plus two cuz I I got bored, but uh your mileage may vary. I get bored very easy. Uh and not when I say I get bored, I I mean like I I just don’t like sitting in the same place, right? I got, you know, I got whatever ADD or whatever it is that makes me just want to go do something else, right? And, you know, getting this HP regen, you can’t take this off or anything like that. So, putting in like the any slot is a really nice any slot item early on, right? And I believe this goes up to like maybe 20 regen or something like that. Don’t quote me on that. Maybe 15. So, it’s it’s a really nice item to have. So, it’s worth going to Kazakthul and picking that up. There’s a few other items there that might be of interest to you like rubicite and stuff like that if you don’t have armor at this point at that point, right? Uh in full rubicite is definitely good. If you’re rogue, you can get full raven scale there, right? That’s equivalent to your class armor. It’s about level 30 armor, right? And uh you know, it might be worth even mentioning that real quick as a segue. Now, if you’re having issues uh doing, you know, anything in the game, right? If you’re having issues, you might want to pick up your your class armor. Now, there’s a few sets here. There’s crafted tomic, dark forge. Um I’ve never heard of black wolf armor. Uh, and then these ones here, like there’s not every class gets it for some reason, but the crafted armor, you can see here the crafted breastplate, you know, 22 AC, 25 uh, hit points, right? That’s a that’s a damn good breastplate for a warrior at level uh, you know, 25, let’s say, right? And then the shamans have their own armor. You know, it’s it’s decent. It’s not the best, but it it’s better than rubicide, but you can you can make rubicide, too. Now, if you go to Kazakth and you uh you know, spend some time there, you can pick up all the items you need to make um the dark forge armor. Really easy. And you can see here, this is the final stats of the full set, right? Uh 98 AC, four strength, 22 stamina, right? These these aren’t bad stats, right? in any any any way, right? Uh you can definitely get this and uh you’ll definitely have a set of armor that you can use until you replace it. All right. And then clerics have one, too. So, if you pick a cleric and bars, and they’re all they’re all fairly easy quests, right? Like a gypsy loot from Mist Moore and a uh basalt carbos from lower, right? It takes like seconds to get mudwater rune, opalion helmet, seconds to get, right? So like it’s not hard to do any of these quests. It’s just a matter if you want to do them. Uh but as I said, you know, you you can go there. You can get Rubicite. It works just as fine. It’s more of like it’s it’s plate armor visual, but it’s more like chain armor AC, if that makes sense. All right, so you’re here. you know, you got uh you know, you you’ve gotten through, you know, few different dungeons. You’re probably like 40 now. As you get to 46, that is where I like to just go straight to plane of hate. And where are they? There they are. Planes. Plane of hate is definitely my favorite place to go. Now, I believe this is the accurate map. Let me double check. Where’s Where does it show zone in at? Okay. Yeah, this is this this is the map. I think it’s close enough that uh it works. Right now, you can kill everything. Right. You have to uh port up and then create an instance. Right now, you can port up. This is where starting as an XR is convenient. Uh the port to Plane of Hate is in Oasis of Mar right here on that. See this tower in the center? Right at the top of that tower is the clicky. You click it. There’s the void lane right there too. Boom. You’re in plane of hate. And then you create your instance once you’re inside of plane of hate. And you can do plane of hate solo. Uh you can also group with people, right? You can, you know, the whole time I’m saying everything. You can group with people. You don’t have to solo everything. I just like soloing because I I literally go AFK. Like I I want an FD class so I can AFK. That’s a lot of what where where I what I do, right? I AFK and I come back when when you know I can play again. But you spawn in here. What I do is I walk out of here. Walk here. Follow this wall. Follow this wall. There’s rors that go through here. So wait for them. When you see nothing, you can run right here. Run into there. Run into this room. Kill the mobs there. Go into this room. Kill the mobs there. Go outside. Go here. Go around. Go in here. Kill the two mobs there. Go upstairs. Kill the mob there. Go back downstairs. Now, the the chest that spawns here is worth killing now since they don’t dispel. So, you should probably kill that one while you’re there, too. Then you go in here. There’s going to be two. There’s going to be a mob here and then a mob upstairs. Kill both of those. Come over here. This is This room here is a little harder. Uh but, uh you should be able to do it. Kill it. Kill everything in there. Uh, you might have to fight two at once, but if you pull there’s like me one. It spawns like right here where my mouse is. If you go right here in this corner, like right here, right like right at the corner of the stairs, the ror that goes here won’t aggro. So, you should be fine. All right. Now, these are all going to be like warrior mobs. Um, I say that they’re like mummies and they don’t really do anything. There’s uh mummies and the female mummies which used to drop the bard armor and the warrior armor, right? says, “What what I’m kind of targeting on this path is just the easier mobs, and they they should be about 2 to 4% each experience, depending on what rank uh difficulty you pick. I would start at zero and work your way up till you find your uh where you can handle it. Now, up in this area, you’re going to find more like um uh caster mobs, like the uh enchanter, the mage mobs. So, you you be careful there uh cuz they’re going to have damage shields and stuff, but you know, definitely want to look into that area if you’re looking to get that armor. Now, right here in this this uh church area is what it’s called right here. Uh there’s a mini boss that spawns here, but in a private instance, he won’t spawn. So, you uh can pull the two clerics there. There’s a guy there, and then two clerics there, two clerics there. Uh spy golem is like always right there. Uh and then there’s a second floor with more stuff like that. So you can go ahead, you know, like it’s a good time. I I I was able like in just [\h__\h] around. I could clear it all before respawn. Like it’s uh it’s pretty Now it says that’s a safe corner. That is a lie. I do not believe anything that says it’s safe. There is rors all over the zone. There’s rors up and down this whole zone wall right here. Um and then there is an upper floor, so you can go up there. It’s going to be harder mobs. They drop uh I believe warrior armor and stuff like that. The legs drop from the dark elves on the upper floor. Uh so you’re going to have a you’re going to have a little bit of a hard time with some of those. I’m not going to lie. They’re like level 55. Uh I would I would wait on those until you’re a little bit able. But uh all you got to do is go through here through here and then you’re out in this courtyard right here. And you go like this all the way around to this door. And then right here is where spawns. So, uh, he’s not in the in the in the, uh, instance, but, uh, just in case you want to know how to get to him. Now, you’ll be able to get, you know, the rune etched armor, uh, barred armor, but like a lot of this is inaccurate now since they changed the way the drops loot their drops are. So, uh, but, uh, I believe it’s like arms, gloves, and something else drop spawn here. and then in legs and then the breastplates are in fear and stuff like that. So I would I would spend your time here, level up, get 50 and then you know make your way over to fear. Now I have not I have not tried fear uh solo at all. I have not I haven’t even bothered. I did fear D 0 through D4 uh a lot and I do mean a lot because I was trying to farm the shadow knight armor when it used to drop here and that is an experience that I think everybody should go through doing doing it in the uh open world and group version of the instance. Uh definitely a challenge to say anything. Um but you’re going to zone into fear like right here and you just want to go to this wall as soon as possible. kill anything that attacks you as you make your way around the wall up to here. Uh when you get to here, the things in the temple, the amaggaladians or whatever they’re called, uh yeah, amaggadian knights and warriors, they drop armor uh breastplates. I believe some of the other ones in here drop armor, too. I wish I don’t know why the wiki didn’t get updated, but uh uh it is what it is there, I guess. Uh, is there like a planer planer armor uh planer hate cleanup project? Yeah, [laughter] it’s still not there, but they’ll get it updated at some point. Um, but uh that’s what I recommend. Now, I I was going to theoretically go into Sky immediately. Uh but I did sky uh I did sky [gasps] like 20 times and it is rough. Uh it is not it is not a day one thing for me. Uh maybe in a group it might be like a day one thing. Uh you know week one, day one, whatever your your play power is, right? Like what you know, however you’re going to play, you can do it however you want. But uh and definitely uh Sky was a uh you’re level 50 kind of thing. Now it just depends. But uh I I found I found it to be hard. And to get to Sky, you go to Freeport, East Freeport. And this see this little rock here? That’s the that’s where the clicky to uh sky is right there in the in the water. Just jump out jump off the dock. you’ll see it and you’ll get there pretty easy. Now, I’ve talked mostly about this this part of the world. Right now, uh starting as an XR, you’re close to Lava Storm, right? So, I would say Nagafin is probably your second raid boss. Now, why do I say second and not first? Because our favorite friend in the hole, wherever hole where the hole is, right? I don’t There it is in the hole. Yale is a pushover. Absolute pushover. Now he drops a a two-hander with a earthquake proc. He drops uh a robe. That’s really nice. He drops a really nice dagger, right? He might drop other stuff, but the hole is definitely something worth doing at least once or twice. And I say that because one, the improved healing three item drops in the hole off a named rat plus Yale. So you’re going to want to go to hole at some point and you’re going to want to spend a little bit of time there. Now, if you want to do the the named camp on while you’re leveling, go and do it while you’re leveling. You know, 40 to 40 to 50 is probably the the range you’re going to go there and do that as soon as you can. Uh you think you can try make an attempt on the the raid boss. I think you should. He’s not hard. Watch my videos. I do all four of them or five all five versions in almost every single one of the videos I did on that. Uh it is definitely a pushover compared to some of the other ones. Now, once you once you’re able to kill him reliably and you have some planer armor and you’re good to go there, I would say Nagafan’s layer. Once you can kill Nagafan, go to perafrost, kill Vox, right? They’re not hard fights, especially on difficulty zero, right? You’re going to get full loot on each difficulty you you kill them on on the first kill of the week. So, you should try to kill them as many times you can, you know, upgrade your items. You know, get the blade stopper, the uh uh what is it? Cloak of flames and all that. You’re going to be good. Uh that’s my plan. >> [laughter] >> I’m going to I’m going to try to do all that, you know, week one. I want to get all the raid bosses killed on D0 week one. That’s my goal uh of retail. Not like I’m not going to push as hard in the pre-order beta, but uh I’m going to push towards that goal. Uh I just don’t know if I’ll be able to do it cuz I will be I won’t be able to make videos for like a week or two. So, it’ll be interesting there. But once you can kill Nagafin, you can kill Vox. Uh they nerfed the Vox arena, so it’s a lot easier to do. So it’s definitely uh more more approachable for more builds and stuff. Now, I have not talked about Fedor at all. Uh in fact, there is zero reason to ever go here if you don’t want to unless they revamp uh KG uh State of Unrest or Mistmore. Like I I wouldn’t even I wouldn’t waste my time. Now, I started as a Gnome in the the closed beta, right? And I suffered through Steam Font Mountains. I suffered through uh Greater Fade Arc and I suffered through I didn’t even go into there. I went straight into Unrest. Now, Unrest is a good zone. It’s, don’t get me wrong, uh but the items are, you know, outdated at this point, uh compared to what you can find in Befallen, Black Barrow, and Gina. So there’s unless they update unrest, I wouldn’t I wouldn’t waste my time. Keep has the greatest experience modifier in the game. Uh it is going to be the best zone to level in most likely, but if you’ve ever been to Ced Keep, you’ll understand. Uh it is not a fun [laughter] it’s not a fun zone at all. I got some older videos of me doing it on live and uh it’s just not it’s just not a great zone. Um, I don’t like it at all personally. You might like it. You might might be your favorite zone in the game. Uh, it wasn’t for me. But if you want to do keg, you go over here to Kino’s Hills. There’s a dude right here on the coastish uh near the zone line to serial fall glades. Uh, his name is Hayden. Um, and he drops near ring. Uh, that gives you enduring breath. Uh, see here, I think. Yeah, there he is. So, he drops the fishbone earring every so often. Uh, he spawns like every five minutes. I think it says four to six hours, but it’s like every five minutes. I think uh you kill him, you get the earring you haven’t worn enduring breath, right? You might even be able to take that out of the earring and put it on your real earring. So, actually, can you [laughter] I used all my modes, but it’s a focus, right? It’s a warn effect. Yeah, it’s not a focus. So, you can’t I don’t think you can take that out of there. Uh but you can uh definitely uh wear it if you need it. So, if you’re going to go to catch, I would definitely recommend that even if you’re cast, even if your class has like perma enduring breath or something like that, I would still get it because uh things dispel and don’t want to have to like pay attention to that stuff. All right, so at this point, you’ve you’ve leveled uh you know, you’ve you can go into, you know, Upper Gawk, you can go into Soulby. You you’re leveled your first character pretty much at this point. you’re you’ve cleared, you know, hate, you’ve you’ve gone and uh you know, you’ve maybe done fear, you’ve done CT, uh you’re good to go. So, that’s my plan. Now, uh the the only reason I would go to Mismore Castle, in all honesty, is the earrings or to get the uh hilt for uh um uh soulfire. [laughter] I couldn’t think of it. So, if you’re going to play a paladin, you’re going to be spending a lot of time in misorphing up hilts. I’ll tell you that right now. Uh I did not see anything in Crush Bone. I wanted like a truly just like everything in Blackboro and Nina totally eclipse anything over here. Like it’s just not even it’s not even [laughter] it’s not even a it’s it’s honestly a joke how strong that stuff is. Now, uh one other item of interest. It’s worth doing. I don’t see it on. Yeah, Runny Eye. There is a mana preservation 2 item in Runny Eye, and I highly recommend getting it. You might not cast very many of those spells at 50, but as you’re leveling up new characters, you’ll be able to have that mana preservation. So, it’s worth having that and putting out an item and uh you know, getting that through uh there. Uh apparently, Runny Eye is really good experience. I did not try it, but uh it’s really good. So, go have fun. I think it’s very trainy, but uh it is what it is. Now, uh I think that is I think that’s everything. I’m trying to think of anything else that I would like think about, right? Um, yeah, I I don’t really have anything else that I would uh really think that needs to be uh that needs to be said for this one. Uh, but yeah, that’s my plan. I I plan to, you know, so like recap that, right? We’re going to start here as an XR. We’re going to go, you know, commons until we get to befallen. Do befallen till like 20 to 30, then do Nina till, you know, whatever we we get all the items we want. Then we’re going to go probably to Kazakth, you know, get a few rubesite breast plates, get that upgraded. Uh, now hitting Blackboro is probably worth doing just to pick up a few items for the other slots. Um, you saw the Black Barrow video, like some of that, but Black I felt like was more like, you know, level 10 cuz that mob, you know, gets you right at the entrance. So starting over there and going straight to that one wasn’t really his option versus befallen. to me anyway. Your mileage will vary. Now, uh, you know, I like Lower Guck. There’s some items worth getting in Lower Guck, like Yaks and stuff like that. So, definitely worth going there. There’s some more items in Nagafan’s layer. Uh, like the Myithil stuff you can get from the cobalts. Uh, there’s a Painbringer I think you can get, which you can take. I think the AUG off that. I believe it’s a shadow knight usable and warrior usable which is an AoE progue. So, [snorts] uh there’s some options. There’s options when I’m talking here. Uh so you you know you make your way through the world. Um hole is good, you know, 40 plus, but I mean this this is the world, right? This is this is everything that’s available. Uh I I don’t see a whole lot of things that are, you know, to me worth my time. like Steam Fawn Mountains was a terrible experience. I felt like it was a very bad newbie zone. It felt like it’s like the newbie zone that it’s version on live, right? And it’s very sparse. It’s very slow. I would say Freeport probably has the best newbie zone. I’ I’ve never liked the Kenos newbie zone. I’ve never liked the newbie zones. Aglocks new the the ogre one in the F rock is an absolute terrible newbie zone. Uh, Inthal Swamp’s annoying because of all the water, but uh, if you do if you do a troll, you can go to Upper Gawk at level one. Uh, no problem. Uh, except for being too big for some of the holes. Uh, you literally any any character probably go to Upper G at level one without much effort. [snorts] Uh, and just kill the same like entry entry frogs over and over again until you can move on. Like, it’s not that hard. Uh, but these are, you know, driveby zones. There’s nothing in these zones that I would spend any time with. Like, you could go to Spitpaw if you’re doing Soulfire, but I wouldn’t waste my time otherwise. Uh, you know, Befallen, Black Barrow, and Nina are the the hot dungeons, if you will. Now, I I I’ve heard they’re going to redo Unrest, and if they re redo Unrest, then, you know, definitely going to be worth going to, but Unrest is uh like 10 to 25, 10 to 35, so it overlaps with all these other zones anyway. So, hopefully it has it gets a clicky that’s worth getting. Uh, and that would be make it worth going, right? Like each of these dungeons seems to have a clicky. So that’s like to me the reason to go to these because these it’s a clicky you’re going to use for the rest of the game. Uh but yeah, so that’s it uh for that. So that’s pretty much what I’m going to be doing. I’m going to be doing uh shaman necro plus one of the tanks that I talked about. Uh I’m going to level that path. That’s where I’m going. That’s exactly exactly what I’m going to do. Like there’s no that. Now I do plan on uh leveling with some friends. you know, if I can get a, you know, get in the same uh this, you know, get on the same time as them level with them and stuff like that and, you know, play with them. Uh, but, you know, I, you know, if anybody out there wants to, you know, meet up and stuff like that, I’ll be on Freeport and, uh, if you want to play, uh, I don’t plan on making a guild or anything like that, don’t ask. But if you know there’s a guild and someone wants wants uh you know wants everybody to join it then uh you know we can definitely look into that. But I just I I’m very in and out when it comes to the the you know gaming right like I I’ll make I’ll have scheduled videos all the way out for like a week but then I’m I’m not really there. Some days I’m not playing at all. Uh you know I’m out you know chopping down trees. So, I got I got other things to do in my life, but uh you know, I’m always on trying to play when I can. So, definitely something there. But, as you can see, like I feel like this is going to be the best spell in the game. Uh I I just I just have it feel in my bones. But, uh definitely there’s, you know, a lot of things to be said about a lot of this. Uh but I don’t really have much else. Like, that’s my plan. Like I don’t plan on doing much else other than that. Uh in retail I’ll have a whole different plan video, but that’s what I’m going to do in the pre-order beta and uh whatnot and uh pretty much try out what I want to do for retail. So there it is. So if you have any questions or comments, you think my plan is terrible, you think I talk too much, you think anything at all, you know, leave a comment, let me know. I I love talking to people. you know, I had I had someone send me a comment and, you know, told me to stop whining pretty much is what the the gist of it was uh about some stuff, you know, and it it really put it a lot of perspective. We we talked for a little bit and uh you know, I’ve uh you know, decided to make some uh make some changes. You know, I want to start getting back into making guides. Uh but it’s hard to make guides for this game until it’s fully released because I just feel like things are going to change. And uh it’s hard to do. Like I made a few of them, but those requests are like 30 years old, so I don’t think that really matters. But there we go. Uh so thank you very much for watching and please have a fantastic Okay.
