Innoruuk - WAR / BRD / CLR - d4 solo
Innoruuk at difficulty four on Warrior, Cleric and Bard with no slow beyond the Bard song. The root spam that makes the fight long rather than hard, a full parser breakdown, and why mediocre damage is the deliberate trade.
Innoruuk at difficulty four on Warrior, Cleric and Bard, with no slow available beyond the Bard song. He had his damage nerfed and mine buffed in the patch just before this, which takes most of the tension out of it. The closing line is the point of the whole build: my damage is mediocre and that is deliberate, because this is built to win rather than to win fast.
What He Rolled This Time
Paladin, Ranger and Wizard, and only two of those mattered.
- His multiclasses are rolled per spawn, so this is what I drew rather than what he always is. Plan for the possibility, not the specific set.
- The Ranger half did nothing visible. No arrow shots, none of the usual kit, and I say so on camera.
- Paladin meant heals and potentially lay hands, survivable because I can out-damage his healing unless he has the 50 to 60 range spells.
- The Wizard half mana detonated, which was the one thing that actually cost me.
- No stuns at all, which surprised me for that combination and is the kind of thing a different roll would change.
- His melee runs about 200 a hit in defensive, climbing to 348 the moment I switch to offensive.
Timing note: the patch just before this nerfed his damage and buffed mine, so this is an easier fight than it would have been a week earlier.
Root Is the Whole Annoyance
And it is an AI problem, not a difficulty one.
- He chain-casts root before he starts nuking, and keeps casting it after it lands.
- It burns my mana rather than threatening me, which makes the fight longer without making it harder.
- My honest view: root should come off these mobs. The AI is not smart enough to use it well, and rooting until you are rooted and only then casting is not the strong play.
- This is not a Legends problem. Every version of EverQuest does it, on experience mobs as much as raid targets.
- He also hastes himself mid-fight, which I try to dispel and cannot confirm either way, because the timer display is bugged and does not tell you whether a click landed.
The Stance Dance
No Malo, no Tash, so over channel does the work.
- Over channel until about 50 percent mana, then recovery to build it back, then over channel again.
- That is what lands the dots. Without Malo or Tash there is nothing else improving my chances.
- Defensive for the whole fight, not because I have to but because I do not want to eat a random 500.
- Offensive only under 10 percent, hunting finishing blows. I got a flurry and a crit and no finishing blows at all.
- Ward of the Divine stays up. It is a real chunk of the damage, not a buff you set and forget.
Skip the Trash
Including the two named everyone expects you to kill.
- I skipped everything I could on the way to him.
- Master of Spite and Lord of Loathing are not worth the time at this point.
- On retail I might kill Master of Spite for the druid scimitar, and even then I am not convinced.
- The scimitar loses to a Servant's Tooth. A 19 delay at 20 damage gives up too much, even with an earthquake proc in it.
- Some of these items need revisiting to be worth a detour at all.
What the Parser Says
The interesting number is not the DPS.
- 169 DPS, 87,000 damage total. Not impressive, and I say so.
- Piercing out-damages any single dot, but the dots together are competitive with it, because a melody is stacking several at once.
- Ward of the Divine matched my piercing almost exactly, and beat the offhand, kick and cleave. That is a proc doing main-hand damage.
- Cleave is at the bottom again, below kick, which is becoming a pattern across these fights.
- Promise Renewal is 88 percent of my healing across nine casts, and I overheal deliberately because I talk too much while recording.
- Bloodlust is worth its slot at 11 percent, about 3,000 healing off one spell, which is mana efficient even if it will not carry a fight.
- He hit me for 39,000 at 77 DPS, roughly half his swings connecting, averaging 157.
- The spikes are spells, not melee. Rend is where the big numbers come from, and he only casts each one once, so the headline max hit is not representative.
The Loot
Two of the good cloak.
- Two Cloaks of Scales
Cloak of ScalesEQLMAGIC ITEM LORE ITEM NO DROPSlot: BACKAC15HP50MANA50STR+10WIS+10INT+10WT: 1 Size: SMALLClass: WAR SHD SHM MNK NECRace: ALLSource: Plane of Hate, Innoruuk_(God) in one kill. With the plus two already in my bag that merged straight to plus five. - It now beats my haste cloak, so it goes on, and I stop feeding it motes there.
- The haste is the only thing I lose, and the fix is a haste belt out of Sky, which I do not have yet.
- Leatherfoot Sandals
Leatherfoot SandalsEQLMAGIC ITEM LORE ITEM NO DROPSlot: FEETAC11MANA30STR+10AGI+10WIS+10SV MAGIC+20WT: 0.5 Size: SMALLClass: WAR CLR PAL RNG DRU ROGRace: ALLSource: Plane of Hate, Innoruuk_(God) merged to plus five, which are simply good boots. - An Innoruuk Skinner's Belt rounds it out.
Why the Damage Does Not Bother Me
The thesis of the build.
- This build is about winning, not killing fast. That is the line, and it is the whole justification.
- Sky weapons would put it at 200 to 250, which is my own estimate rather than a measurement.
- More AC and hit points would cut the healing, and with a real slow I think this is a one or two Promise Renewal fight.
- Shadowknight, Shaman and Necromancer is the next attempt, and I expect it to work.
- One catch there: I believe he is immune to poison, which costs the shaman its biggest dot. The fire dots and the rest should still land.

Hello and welcome to Everquest Legends beta. Today we are going to be doing Innoruuk difficulty four with a warrior cleric bard. I just don’t think I have a video for this one yet. And I can’t even remember if I’ve done it with this build or not. >> [laughter] >> I think I did it with the shaman build. I know, but I don’t know if I made videos for those cuz I wasn’t recording. I’ve gotten to this weird thing where I’ll just start doing stuff and I’ll forget to push the record button, so we’ll see how this goes. Can’t remember, but this will be with like no slow except for the bard slow, right? So it’ll be interesting. So we’re going to go in with over channel. We’re going to go in with defensive. And uh they just Oh jeez, they just nerfed his damage, so let’s see how it goes. They nerfed his damage and they buffed our damage, right? So let’s see how this goes. I’m going to go ahead and preheal and then get this into dot time. Now turn myself slightly. Let’s get so damage, right? So this will be where he does spell damage and whatnot. So he’s at 96% and he’s at 50% mana already. What did he do? Now he’s a paladin ranger wizard. So oh and he just got all his mana back somehow. Jeez, I don’t know what happened there. But he’s at 92. All right. And he is he’s bard slowed, so that’s good. And he mana detonated us with the wizard. Go ahead and re- heal that. Jeez. 88% health. So, I’m not 100% sure what Ranger is going to provide him cuz he doesn’t seem to be doing his arrow shots and stuff like that that Rangers typically do and they don’t have any He doesn’t have any of his damn shield stuff. Uh Paladin means he’s probably going to lay hands uh and uh whatnot. Or maybe blow his mana healing at a certain point, which uh is fine by me. Cuz we should be able to out damage his healing. Cuz I believe his best heal is going to be super heal uh unless he’s got like the level 50 to 60 spells for for Paladin then we’re we’re cooked. He’s not doing any stuns, which is surprising. For the combo, right? All right. Not bad, not bad. Now, his nukes are not doing too much damage here. So, I’m trying to stay in over channel until about 50% mana. Then we’ll do a recovery to get some of that mana back and then go back into over channel. Over channel’s going to give us the maximum opportunity to land any of our spells since we don’t have Malo or Tash or anything like that. Uh so, it’s it’s definitely a uh it’s a game of dance uh stance dancing, right? Now, I can probably like I feel like I could probably jump into offensive but I’m not 100% sure. Nor do I want to randomly get hit for like 500, right? So, which could they, definitely hurt, right? He’s doing 200 202 damage, right? So, he’s at 60% we’re at 50% health. Let’s get Let’s get a heal on there, please. And he’s he wastes a lot of my mana rooting. I feel like I feel like to make the AI a little bit more intelligent, they should probably get rid of root, honestly. Um Like the way they chain cast it like this happens on experience mobs and everything like that. It just doesn’t feel like the AI for the mobs is smart enough at times. And this this happens on all the versions of EverQuest, right? They try to root you till you’re rooted and then they start casting, right? It’s It’s definitely not the smartest play. >> [laughter] >> It’s not the smartest play. Oh, and he just valor of mar. What the hell? Oh, he just hasted himself mid fight. What the Okay, well, you know what, buddy? Meet. Meet my clicky. I can’t click for some reason. There we go. Pillaging chamber. I don’t know what is going on there. Oh my god, it doesn’t dispel that. Oh my. All right, well. Fight him hasted. I don’t know. Maybe it didn’t land or something. Yeah, I don’t know. It’s the timer thing is bugged so you have no idea if it lands or not. It’s kind of annoying. All right, it doesn’t matter. He’s at 46%. He needed He needed haste. He gets haste. All right, you know, that’s just how we play it. Now, I skipped all the trash that I could to get to him. So, at this point killing like the master of spite and the lord of loathing just like a waste of time. Um in all honesty. Um maybe like on on retail I’d kill the Master’s Might to get try to get a better uh you know, Druid Scimitar, but I mean, even then like I did not feel like the the 19 delay Druid Scimitar was even as good as like my Servant’s Tooth. Even with the earthquake proc in it, like I just didn’t feel like it was it was as fun, uh you know. Cuz this is this is 20 damage, right? So, you’re you’re missing out on a lot of a lot of damage, so and some of these some of these items need to be like revamped to make them a little bit more attractive. All right, so he’s at 41%. We’re at 74% mana, like this is just pretty much a battle of attrition at this point. We’re just going to beat him down with our dots until he dies. Let’s throw a heal on. And then we’ll uh we’ll go through the parsing here at the end to show all the uh all the numbers and all the damage and stuff. See what his new DPS is. Definitely uh definitely doing good. I bet if I had a little bit more armor class, a little bit more hit points, I probably wouldn’t need as even need to heal as much. If I had slow, I probably probably get away with like one or two PRs, I mean, in all honesty. I just I got a weak one, I guess. Um Definitely uh I’m going to I’m going to try to do this with the Shadow Knight Shaman necro build. I think that one should be able to do it. I just can’t remember I can’t remember what dots I think he’s immune to poison. So, like we lose if we lose the big the big Shaman damage dealing spell, right? But, uh we should be able to land the fire dots and all the other ones, so. It works just as fine. Okay, let’s get Warden of Divine back on. He’s at 16%. I’m at 59% mana. And you’ll see Warden of Divine is just like doing a nice amount of damage. Um this uh Blessing of the Lord Commander is is probably going to be like 20% of our healing. Uh we’ll definitely check that out here in a second, but uh it is uh it is actually crazy. Let’s go into offensive for a few minutes here. Just for this uh for the finishing, right? He’s under 10%, so we should start getting finishing blows. Uh so, there we go. A flurry. Theoretically, we should be getting finishing blows. Taking a little harder incoming damage. 348 versus 202, right? With defensive. But, uh no no finishing blows. There we go. We got a critical. But, uh nothing too fancy. There we go. All right. So, that’s uh Enrook D4. So, let me get a screenshot real quick. We’ll look at whatever loot we got. All right, D4 with warrior cleric bard. I’m at 572 AA. I’m uh Here’s my stats. My gear I don’t think the highest gear I piece I have is a plus six paladins of power. So uh you know, that’s that’s a pretty good one there. Oh my gosh, we got two cloaks to scale. Geez. Uh so this this is a pretty good cloak. Now like I’m going to probably switch to it uh once it surpasses that one, but look at that. Like it’s pretty nice. So let me uh let me look at this here. What do I got in my bag already? I got a cloak of plus two. So let’s merge this one. Now that became a plus four. And then merge it again, that’s a plus five, right? I’m not even going to waste motes anymore. So it’s it’s pretty much surpassed my haste cloak, right? And it’s uh you know, give give us more stats. It’s We’re going to lose a little fire. That’s fine, but I do not have an alternate haste item yet, so I can’t uh do that. So this would be the probably the item I would replace with a haste belt from sky, right? Uh I have Inner Rock Skinner’s Belt and Leather Foot Sandals plus four. Uh that’ll be nice. So that’ll give us Leather Foot Sandals plus five, right? So there we go. And these are just some nice boots. I mean, they’re just pretty nice, right? They give you a 15 some stats. So it’s good loot, right? Very good. Two of those cloaks is very nice. So there we go. Uh Inner Rock difficulty four warrior cleric bard. Uh we’ll do it again uh tomorrow. I think I can redo this one. Um and we’ll do shadow knight shaman necro, maybe. Uh or warrior cleric shaman. Uh I know I I I’ve get a lot of requests for a lot of different builds, so we’ll see what we can get. Uh and the quickest way to get a request for a build done and uh, in the game is to send me a message on Discord in my Discord channel. Just go there and go to the EverQuest Legends and be like, “Hey, I’d like to see such and such build.” Um, and whatnot because like the comments on YouTube like I sometimes I won’t see the sub comment, right? Like you’ll do like, “Hey.” And then I’ll be like, “Hey.” And then the comment you replied to, I won’t see it unless I change a lot of filters to see those and like I won’t see them on my phone when I’m doing most of my comments, so. Uh, you know, Discord in the EverQuest Legends channel is going to be the best way to uh, you know, get on get my attention and have a conversation. But uh, there you go. Thank you very much for watching. Oh, wait, wait, wait, wait, we didn’t even do part We didn’t even do the the parsing. I’m sorry. All right, let’s bring this in. All right, DPS. I did 169 DPS. I did 87,000 damage. Breakdown selected. Uh, so the majority of our damage comes from all of our dots combined and then into piercing, right? So piercing out damages each individual dot, but if you combine all the dots together because they’re just it’s a melody, right? Uh, it is definitely uh, competitive there. Now, the interesting thing right here, uh, if you catch this really closely, the proc Warden of the Divine is doing the exact almost same amount of damage as my piercing. The proc outdid the um, offhand. It outdid kick. It outdid cleave. Obviously just sneezing now does cleave and then whatnot. So pretty interesting there. Now, if we break down healing, so you’ll see I did nine promise renewals and I did three also 88% of my my healing was from promise renewal and I kind of overhealed just to to be on the safe side when I make a video cuz like sometimes I’ll just start yapping and then uh you know I’m I’m dead. But bloodlusting the banner did 11% of our healing, right? Uh 3,000 damage just from that that’s one spell. So that’s pretty that’s pretty pretty mana efficient spell. I mean it’s not going to keep you alive through a lot of stuff, but it it’s it’s doing its job. Now melee DPS-wise he did 77 DPS towards us, did 39,000 damage. He has a 47% accuracy uh chance to hit with uh 52% accuracy. His average hit was 157. His max hit was 802. So I don’t know how where that one came from. Probably went into offensive. And then the tanking break down here. Oh, never mind. It it’ll tell us where that came from. So his max hit came from rend. So his spell damage is the higher end of his hits. His max hit was 405. And that was probably when we were on a offensive. Uh so something to keep in mind there. My but his spell damage while while they’re big numbers, right? They’re not it’s not it was like one nuke, right? He only did he only cast these like once to land them, right? So definitely interesting there. So uh you know, our DPS isn’t that high. I think with like sky weapons and stuff it might go up into the like to 200 to 250 range, but uh you know, it is what it is. I don’t really care about the DPS as much with this build. This build is about winning, not about killing it fast. [laughter] All right. So thank you very much for watching and please have a fantastic day.
