The end of Towani, A Thief's Tale. The account is cancelled and the rules of the run bent until it stopped being fun. Also the first video recorded and edited entirely on Linux.

Three minutes to close out Towani. The account is already cancelled and the series is done, for the plainest possible reason: the rules of the run bent far enough that it stopped being fun. It doubles as a quiet technical milestone, being the first video both recorded and edited entirely on Linux, in the run-up to the Legends launch.

Why It Ends

Not the class. The ruleset.

  • The rules of the run got bent and once that started, the point of it went with it.
  • The account is cancelled, so this is not a pause.
  • The Rogue is not the problem. I enjoyed the class enough to plan another one, just not on this account.
  • Streamlining is the wider reason. Legends takes most of my time now and leaving a dead series unlabelled did not sit right.

I do not elaborate on which rules bent, or how. Just that once they did, the run stopped being the thing I had set out to do.

The Linux Milestone

Buried in a farewell video.

  • Recorded and edited entirely on Linux, the first video to manage both.
  • Still shaking out bugs ahead of the Legends launch on the 28th, which is the day before this went up.
  • I ask for audio feedback specifically, since the capture chain is new.

The Short Version

  1. Towani, A Thief's Tale is over.
  2. The account is cancelled.
  3. The rules of the run got bent and the fun went with them.
  4. Another Rogue is likely, on a different account.
  5. First fully Linux recorded and edited video.

Blue and welcome to 20’s a thief’s tale, I think is what I called this series, but it doesn’t matter too much cuz this is the end of the series. Um I stopped playing this character. It’s, you know, I think I ended it in a uh what’s it called? A uh a PowerPoint slide a while back, but uh I think it’s done. I I plan on continuing this character. In fact, I’ve already canceled this account. Um just because I’m streamlining my life and streamlining all my stuff, right? I play a lot more Legends now and it just doesn’t feel right to continue with leaving this out there. I want to like I’m putting in notes on all these things and it’s going to make more sense in the August channel update. Uh I can guarantee that with uh my future for creating content for uh all the different things, but uh I just wanted to end this one. You know, thanks to the people who watched it. I had fun. Now, I am going to be making another rogue in the future. Uh I did enjoy the class. It’s just not on the account that I I want to play on. And right now, I just you know, it’s I’m trying to streamline it down to, you know, a very select number of uh things that I’m doing concurrently. But uh that’s that, right? So, I had fun. Um I would like if if the audio sounds absolutely terrible, uh let me know uh >> [laughter] >> if you’re watching this at this point. Uh I I I’ve moved everything to Linux, right? Like it’s it’s all Linux now and I am uh I’m still testing out all the bugs before the Legends launch on the 28th, so uh this one is fully recorded on Linux and it’ll be fully edited in Linux. So, uh that’s that’s a milestone for me. Uh and uh you know, kind of a hint to the future of uh what I will be doing. Uh but, there we go. That is that. You know, it was a fun series uh guaranteed. Uh but, you know, the rules kind of got a little bent and uh I stopped having fun. So, thank you very much for watching and please have a fantastic day.
