Episode1

The October 22 update is mostly about pets. Commands now hold for six seconds, taunt is a toggle that moves threat by 75% or 50%, and pets that can backstab can also kick and bash. Berserkers get Rampage rank 2 at 40 and a stance that no longer hurts them, and the October 23 hotfix mops up the Necropolis. The second half of the video is spoilers from the game data, mainly how reincarnation is shaping up and the unlock for dark half-elves.

Pets Get a Real Pass

Command locks, a taunt toggle and a few smaller fixes.

  • Attack and back off now lock the pet's reaction for 6 seconds. Anyone who has told a pet to back off and watched it carry on the moment it got hit knows why this is the best line in the notes.
  • Taunt on raises pet threat by 75% and taunt off cuts it by 50%. Your pet should stop dragging aggro unless you want it to.
  • NPCs that were immune to pet taunt are not immune in public areas or solo instances. My reading is that the immunity still holds in group instances.
  • The taunt toggle now works on charmed pets, but it only moves threat up or down. It does not trigger the taunt itself.
  • NPCs that can backstab, pets included, can now kick and bash. A small bump in pet damage, but better than nothing.
  • Fixes: the damage bonus for weapons with a delay of exactly 28, the pet weapon selection settings under the new weapon bonus system, and pet toggles like taunt forgetting their state after a respawn.
  • Summoned pets get mana from wisdom and intelligence, and stamina now counts towards their hit points.

Berserkers and Stances

A buff for the class, and a fix for how stances read.

  • Rampage rank 2 is available to level 40 warriors and berserkers. I do not know what the second rank does yet, but I am hoping for an improvement.
  • Frenzy base damage now depends on the primary weapon multiplier, which is a nice buff for berserkers.
  • Berserker Stance gets a slightly higher attack modifier and loses its self-damage. The evasion and damage reduction bonuses are gone too, so it reads like an alternative to the aggressive stance. I will need to level one to see how it plays.
  • Stances that reduce magic damage now apply to damage over time effects. That one is simply good news.
  • The spell window and tooltips give more specific effect descriptions, and a typo in a healing message and some UI client hangs are fixed.

The Event and the Wand

Something seasonal, and not tested before launch.

  • General Vlad Sterevich needs ingredients for a healing potion. His idea of healing is soothing the soul with something terrifying, so I assume this is a Halloween event, though I am not certain.
  • It was not on the test server before launch. I have not run it yet.
  • A werewolf wand is free on the market for a limited time. Log in and grab it while it lasts.

Hotfix 1023: The Necropolis

Held back a day so it went in one video.

  • The head librarian, Lady Everling, Maid Alexis and Lymptos talk to castle visitors more often, even ones they do not like.
  • Maid bandages are a useful weapon with the right skill, and the Torturer's Signature now shows as a weapon when you hold it.
  • Schemer's Disguise casts the intended illusion and the effect works straight from your inventory.
  • Undead in the Necropolis are now flagged as undead, and Bloody Mittens is spelled correctly.
  • Searight was not using his intended ability. He is reportedly strong, so I want to see how he goes after two patches. I fought him once on the test server.
  • Doors: incorrectly installed doors are fixed, and castle doors that could lock on one side and trap you in a room no longer do.
  • Text fixes: Dorian now says he fled west from the Freeport militia, not east (the scroll he lost still confused me on test), and Vlad points to the creeping creature clue correctly. The zombie staff shows as a staff, not a human.

Spoiler: Reincarnation

Pulled from the game data, not in the patch notes.

  • This is datamined and may change or ship later. Keep that in mind for everything below.
  • Reincarnation resets one race and three classes to level 1. Races now carry a level of their own, so you level your races as well as your classes.
  • The first reincarnation sets a hard limit on all seven base stats. They fall under a soft limit with decreasing efficiency, and that softens with further reincarnations.
  • You also get one reincarnation level rank tied to your chosen races and classes. Gear sets shared by those races sit at the lowest of the four tiers.
  • Every race has new passive abilities. A barbarian, for example, resists cold, which cuts cold damage.
  • The rogue shows how a class gets it: a passive reincarnation AA of three ranks. The second rank adds Preparation, which restores 20% of your health and stamina, and raises damage on all your activated skills like backstab.
  • Most classes are visibly unfinished, some with no ability yet. The full table of class effects is on the Discord.
  • Two new achievements: Be Our Guest for finishing the key quest and then the zone quest, and a Luclin deity achievement that unlocks dark half-elves.

Spoiler: Models and Textures

What the new zone and items look like.

  • I rendered the new models on my own site, with the view of the castle flat, so the depth does not show. The Forest of Beads was updated, but its trees are a different object type and did not render.
  • The dark half-elf starting area is in there, along with a quest area, the lake and one of the quest mobs.
  • New models and textures: a dark half-elf, two ghosts without effects, a mimic chest, a golem, the Juggernaut boss, a guard and a mantle that fits several races.
  • Lord Everling, the final boss of the dungeon, wears the new robe, and I think it is a loot drop. I saw a similar robe on test.
  • New weapons: a few staffs with animations and a sword I think is a final quest reward, which I believe is called the sword of unity.
  • New house items: doors and walls from the castle with a warped effect, plus market favourites like a dead frog, a castle, a skeleton and a scarecrow.

Welcome to the EverQuest Legends update overview for October 22, 2026. There is also a hotfix dated October 23, 2026. There will be spoilers at the end of the video if anyone is interested, but let’s get started. So, General Vlad Sterevich at the Lake Nerija Shopping Center needs ingredients for a healing potion. His idea of healing, of course, is to soothe the soul through something terrifying. OK. I assume this is for a Halloween event, but I’m not 100% sure. This was not on the test server before launch. The Petamorph Werewolf Wand is available for free on the market for a limited time. So get in the game and pick up your wand. Rank 2 Rampage skill is now available to level 40 warriors and berserkers. I’m not 100% sure what the second rank does, but I hope it’s an improvement. Game process. Increased base damage from Frenzy, right? Frenzy base damage now depends on the primary weapon multiplier. This is a pretty nice buff for berserkers. NPCs, including pets, that can backstab can now also kick and bash. So this is a small increase in pet damage. Not too much, but still better than nothing. Spells and prayers. Pet commands such as “attack” or ” retreat” now block the pet’s reaction to other enemy actions for 6 seconds. This is truly a wonderful change. I don’t know if you’ve ever had a pet. There is a hold command, right? And when you tell the pet to back off, it keeps attacking as soon as it gets hit, and you have to spam the button until a special ability comes along to fix it. So, honestly, it’s a pretty good change. Enabling taunt now increases pet threat generation by 75%. Disabling provocation will reduce pet threat generation by 50%. Now your pet will not drag aggro unless you want it to. NPCs that were previously immune to pet taunt will no longer have it in public areas or solo instances. Apparently, this means that this effect will persist in group instances. The taunt toggle is now available for enchanted pets. However, it will only increase or decrease aggro generation. It will not activate the provocation itself. Interesting. Fixed an issue with the damage bonus when pets used weapons with a delay of exactly 28. Fixed the weapon selection settings for pets to better match the new weapon bonus system. Fixed an issue where some pet toggles, such as ” taunt”, would not retain their previous state after spawning. Pets summoned through monster summon spells will now be berserker warriors. Summoned pets will now gain additional mana from wisdom and intelligence. Stamina is now taken into account when calculating the health of summoned pets . Okay, it looks like these are some improvements for the pets. We’ll have to ask Cyanide on Discord later and see what he has to say about it. Stances and Spells: The attack modifier on Berserker Stance has been slightly increased and the self-damage effect has been removed. Oh, that’s just wonderful. And the evasion and damage reduction bonuses have been removed. So it sounds like this is an improvement to Berserker’s Stance. Which is pretty cool. It’s like an alternative to, uh, an aggressive stance. Okay, let’s see how this works. I guess you need to level up Berserker to really see how it works. Stances that reduce magic damage will now also apply to damage over time effects. This is nice. The spell window and tooltip descriptions have been adjusted to provide more specific and accurate information about various effects. This is great. Fixed a typo in the Slug healing message. Also fixed client hangs in certain UI-related scenarios. Okay , so now we have a hotfix that came out this morning, when I was going to do a patch review yesterday, and then I thought, “Oh, they’re going to fix something.” So I decided to wait so I wouldn’t have to make two videos. But hotfix 1023: in the Necropolis, the Head Librarian, Lady Everling, Maid Alexis, and Lymptos now talk to castle visitors more often, even if they don’t like them. Maid bandages are now a useful weapon with the right skill. The name ” Bloody Mittens” is now spelled correctly. ” Schemer’s Disguise ” now properly casts the intended illusion, and the effect works directly from the inventory. The Torturer’s Signature now correctly displays as a weapon when you are holding it. Undead in the Necropolis are now marked as “undead ”. Fixed an issue where Searight in Necropolis Castle was not using his intended ability. Apparently he’s pretty strong, so we’ll see how it goes. I went through this once on the test server before the update was officially released. And I hope some of it has gotten a lot better now that two patches have been released . Let’s see. Fixed an issue with incorrectly installed doors. Fixed an issue where the doors in the castle could lock on one side, preventing players from leaving the room. Dorian now correctly says that he fled west from the Freeport militia, not east. As for the scroll he created and lost, yes. It really confused me when I was doing it, when I was doing it , doing it on the test server, so, uh, definitely, uh , funny. In the holiday text, Vlad now correctly indicates the creeping creature clue, correcting the typo, and the zombie staff will now display correctly, instead of displaying a human. OK. These are the update notes. That’s officially all that’s been fixed, right? So, that’s today and yesterday. Uh , what I’m about to show you next is spoilers. If you don’t want to see spoilers, uh, thank you very much for watching and have a fantastic day. But if you want to see spoilers, uh , then let’s get started. So, on my site, um, I used Claude, right? Like everyone uses Claude now, right? So I, I used Claude to take the uh models and render them, right? So Claude did it . He did it in one fell swoop , if you will. But if we click here, you’ll see, this is, you know, the view of the castle. Sure, it’s flat and you can’t really see its true depth, but , uh, you know, it’s pretty interesting. Er, this is the area of the dungeon where high er or semi-dark elves appear. This is their starting location for beginners. You see it. We’ll get there soon in the game itself. And this is like Nereus and the like . So, you see, uh, I think this is the quest area, where you can take on some tasks, and this is the castle. And here is the uh lake, and here is one of the quest mobs for it. So, you ‘ll see it there. And this area is the Forest of Beads. It was updated, uh, but I didn’t render the trees in that area because they were a different object model, and uh, for some reason Claude is like, “Uh, I’m not going to do that. I’m not going to do that. These are objects.” And I’m like, “Dude, do it, Claude.” And he just acted like a fool, so we have what we have . OK. So, let’s go. Here is a model of a half-elf from the dark elves. Uh, this is a half-elf, how to say, right here, a half-elf from the dark elves. And this, uh , this is a ghost. Of course, there are no special effects on it, so it’s hard to see. Same with this. Another ghost, without special effects. Uh, this is a mimic chest, which I assume is a model for, actually, right. Uh, this is a new golem texture. You see, it looks pretty cool. This is, uh, the texture of the Juggernaut boss. And we also have a new guard texture here . And this is the new mantle texture that was added here. You can see her on a few different races and things like that. So you can see, well, see for yourself. I didn’t check all the races, but I did some of them . Uh, it seems Lord Everling, the final boss of the dungeon, wears this robe, and I think it drops as loot. When I was on the test server, I got a guardian robe, I think, or something, or a traitor, a traitor robe. And I think that was exactly that model. I just did n’t have it in the game yet. Uh , and they also added a few new weapons. You see they are terrible here. This is a side view, so it would be better if you were here. Uh, new staffs. You can see, here’s the animation on this pacifier. Animation on that sucker. And uh, here’s a full rotation of this staff and that other one. So they look pretty cool. Hopefully we can get one of them. Uh, here’s a new part of the quest inside this thing. This is a new sword. And uh, I think you can, I think you can get this one as a final sword to use. I think it’s called the sword of unity. Of course, these are all, uh, spoilers. So , if you didn’t want to see spoilers, you should have turned off the video already. OK. And they also added new items for the house, these are the doors and walls inside the castle that have this warped effect. I don’t know what Claude did there , but he rendered it, but it doesn’t matter. OK. So, moving on to the next one, we can go into detail, right? So, we added a few favorites, right? If you’ve played before , you’ve seen them on the market. Dead frog, castle, skeleton, scarecrow. Uh, the killer bee’s name was changed, and, uh, the cube. That’s it. And we got some new spells. Now, uh, they, I don’t know why, but for some reason, a lot of data about reincarnation, uh, added to this patch. Well, so you can see new spells related to this. For example, preparation is new, uh, for a robber. We …there’s a little more of that below. Nutrition, which is another, uh, another ability. And so on, and so on. So, let’s get down here. You can see what different familiars look like. We reproduce them all right here. And you can see, here’s the spell itself, uh, and its reflection there. You can see all the files that have been changed and so on. Eh, some changes in the lines, right? So, uh, the new change in the line is when you’re trying to improve to plus 10, you need a different item, right? Well, then this text for reincarnation was added to the lines here. It allows you to reset one race or three classes to first level. OK. I mean, one race and three classes up to first level. Reincarnation for the first time, reincarnation for the first time sets a hard limit on all seven basic characteristics. Well, they will fall under a soft limit with decreasing efficiency , which will increase with additional reincarnation. You will also receive one reincarnation level rank tied to your chosen races and classes. Every race, uh, every race will be set to first level, classes will be set to first level. Reminder: Any gear sets shared by these races will also be at the lowest of the four tiers. Yes? So now instead of your level being taken into account only by classes, your race will also take into account your level. So now you need to level up your races. Well, that’s an interesting change, right? It gives you, uh, more things to do. Well, now each of the races has received new passive abilities. Eh, this isn’t in the patch, right? This is data extracted from the game that may or may not be released in a later patch . So keep that in mind, uh, regarding some of these things. They added a new achievement, “Be our guest.” It’s for completing the key quest, and then, uh, for completing the zone quest you get this achievement. A new deity, uh, Luclin, achievement and race that unlocks dark half-elves, right? Eh, you can come down here and see even more, you know, all these different things here. E. you know, we’re all still like, uh, Luclin, the goddess of shadow, a follower of Luclin, has cast aside the usual bickering among the gods and chosen to operate in the shadows. While other mortals on Norrath usually worship the traditional pantheon, Luklin is revered as a shadow-manipulator, right? So you see there are some snippets of text and stuff here, but not for everything. Many lines. There’s a lot of talk about reincarnation, right? Um, each of the different classes gets different abilities, and I don’t know if I added them to the table, and yes, I didn’t put them in the table here. But I posted it on Discord. So But you can see here some of the different effects like health point recovery and so on, right? There are some really cool effects. I like that they’re all in the data, right? It seems like all the information is in the data, unless they removed it in a hotfix. I didn’t see anything interesting in today’s hotfix, did I? All they did was change a few basic things, which to me is just a recompilation plus everything that was fixed in it, right? So not too much, but the reincarnation thing, now that we have a little more detail about it, which is probably a very good reason why they leaked it, right? This is where you can see some potentially interesting things. Here’s an example, a robber, right? It’s all right here. The Rogue gets ” training”, increases passive AA for this race, three ranks of AA for reincarnation, right? So, the first rank gives you that. And the active ability that appears at the second rank is called ” preparation”, right? If I explained everything correctly . Increases damage from all activated skills. So backstab, shield strike, dismemberment, dragon strike, whatever. Everything gets a nice damage bonus, right? That is, if you level up a robber to level 50 , you will get the rank of that, and then you will reincarnate, you understand. So, ” preparation” instantly restores 20% of your health and stamina points. This is a pretty good ability. And it also increases damage by another rank. So that’s pretty cool. So it’s still in development, I think, from a developer perspective, because, you know, these classes here don’t even have an item or, well, an ability. So, they, well, you know, don’t have all their gear yet, but you can see it’s here. Uh , you know, for example, if you choose the barbarian race, you get resistance to cold. This reduces the damage from the cold, right? So all these different things together make the character stronger. I hope they all add up, right? Otherwise, it’s not very interesting. But if they add up, the character will be extremely strong, so that’s all I have in terms of spoilers for today. Um, I think, I think, I think it all looks pretty good, right? Uh, I have n’t tried logging into the server yet. I hope the server will be up and running soon . I haven’t played yet. I was busy. But I’m looking forward to, you know, making my next video. So, hopefully, uh, hopefully, it will be online and ready to go. But, thank you very much for watching and have a great day.
