The end of Hamrok Live, though not of Hamrok. The series dies with the boxing, but the character gets rebuilt as a solo DPS on Drinal with one goal: get raid ready and join the open raids.
Hamrok Live ends, but this is the one finale where the character has a future. The series dies with the boxing; the plan is to rename Hamrok, pick a DPS class, and level him solo on Drinal with the specific goal of joining that server's open raids. That is a real target rather than a vague one, and the Warrior he is now is nowhere near it.
The Series Ends, the Character Does Not
An end cap, not a disappearance.
- Hamrok gets renamed and reused, rather than retired, because he has already done enough of the account-wide work that starting fresh would waste it.
- A DPS class, not the Warrior. The class is undecided but the name is already chosen.
- Solo, on Drinal, with no boxing at all. At most one true boxed character on a laptop.
- Other characters on the account are being deleted, three so far.
Why Not the Warrior
The numbers make the case.
- Open raids want somewhere around 20,000 AC.
- He is roughly 8,000 short even weapons on, and considers himself well geared.
- He does not even have an earring, which he notes as the sort of gap that shows how far off raid ready really is.
- So the tank is the wrong tool for the goal, and DPS is the cheaper route in.
The End of Boxing
Hands, and an operating system.
- The hands are the reason, after years of clicking across screens and spamming the same key to keep a whole box team at maximum output.
- ISBoxer does not work on Linux, and this is the last machine to migrate, so the decision makes itself.
- He tried alt tabbing and disliked it, so there is no fallback he wants.
Why he boxed at all: he plays in short, entirely purposeful sessions and finds groups slow by comparison. Boxing was a way to keep that pace, not a preference for complexity.
When
Autumn, and why.
- Summer is dead time. With the kids home it is hard to disappear into an office for hours, so the plan waits for the school year.
- Legends comes first, a month or two of it, with Lethar launching in between.
- The plan is still on a whiteboard, and gets formalised in the August channel update.
- Channel views are at a record off the back of Legends, which is shaping how much of it gets made.
The Short Version
- Hamrok Live ends at 33.
- The character is kept, renamed and reclassed to DPS.
- Solo on Drinal, aiming at the open raids.
- The Warrior is 8,000 AC short of the roughly 20,000 those raids want.
- Boxing ends for his hands and for Linux.
- Expect it in the autumn, detailed in the August channel update.

Hello and welcome to Hemlock live. I think that’s what I named this series, but this is the finale, right? This is the end. I spoiled it in the the title most likely. Uh now, this this series is ending for a different reason than the other series, right? I’m done with them. I’m done with them. This one on the other hand, I’m going to rename Hemlock and it’s going to be a solo character uh moving forward. I don’t want to give any details yet because I I don’t want to like promise something, but that is my intention. Uh is to delete uh delete his name um and delete the other character that I have as his name. Uh pick a class uh and level it up solo on Durnal. Um with the sole purpose of trying to join the open raids that have on this server. Uh and uh >> [laughter] >> and try to do the raids. Uh that is going to be my that is the intention of what I plan to do, but uh I am going to work on uh going to work on a lot of stuff to get to that point. Uh I’m going to use this character because he’s already you know, done a lot of the stuff, so I don’t have to redo it all. Uh but uh you know, definitely doesn’t even have an earring. So, it’s weird, right? Kicks the earring off. So, like warrior’s not like a a raid a raid ready class, right? Like I’m I’d have to like do a lot of stuff like blurb scout 20,000 AC or some nonsense like that. Like 8,000 AC more than I got right now and I feel like I’m I’m well geared. Uh let’s put Oh, yeah. It’s still it’s still like that, right? So, even with my weapons on. So, it you know, it’s it’s the end really. Um so, that’s the plan. Uh, we’re going to revamp this uh this character, reuse him to, you know, level up another uh DPS class is what I plan on doing. I just haven’t decided on what DPS class. I have a name. I know what name I’m going to be going with um and stuff like that, but for the most part uh it’s you like I don’t plan on uh boxing any of the characters we we had created here. I I think I’ve deleted like three of them so far. Uh >> [laughter] >> uh just to just to be done with them. Uh so, that is kind of, you know, like the plan, right? Like I’m going to move forward with that. Uh this series is dead, but the character is not. We should be able to do something with it and start uh I’m going to start planning that out a little bit better. Uh right now everything is an ideal on my marker board. Uh once I have that done, I’ll turn it into a formalized uh plan for what I plan to do and like how I plan to level that solo character and whatnot to get him raid ready. So, expect to see that in um probably the fall, I would I would say. Um with Legends launching at the end of July uh I say I’m I I’m probably going to play Legends for like a month, maybe a month or two. Uh Lothar launches, we’re going to do some stuff on Lothar. So, there’s going to be some stuff, but once I have it all this all planned out, we can start, you know, recording episodes and getting those uh queued up on YouTube and stuff like that. But, uh for the most part, that’s the plan. That’s uh where I’m going with this uh with this character. And uh this series it’s going to be like probably no boxing. Like I’ve said in the other videos, I might true box one character on a laptop, but I do not plan on doing the the ISBoxer, you know, multi-boxing. I don’t plan on alt-tabbing. I don’t really enjoy that at all. I tried. I didn’t enjoy it. Uh I’m moving to Linux here in the next few days to with this final computer. I’ve moved my all my all my editing for all my videos is all 100% Linux now. Uh my uh my laptop that I use for like all my uh coding stuff, 100% Linux. Uh everything’s Linux. And uh I’m going I’m going there. I just This is my last computer to do. And uh boxing is the only thing that has held me back from doing it before because ISBoxer doesn’t really work in Linux. Maybe if they got it to work, uh that would be a different story. Maybe I’d try it. My my hands hurt from boxing, right? It’s like a lot of, you know, clicking with the mouse over on the other screen, you know, spamming five over and over again to do all of this nonsense to maximize my DPS. [laughter] Like it’s a lot of work. And uh it’s it’s the end. So, uh but, [sighs] you know, it is going to continue for this character. We will uh figure something out. And expect that in the fall-ish, like my uh my kids go back to school at the end of August or the beginning of August, somewhere around there. Uh and when they’re home in the summer, they’re like they’re older now. But, when they’re home, it’s it’s hard to like it’s hard to do be like have the focus of, you know, just going and secluding myself away for uh you know, multiple hours at a time. You know, like they need something. They They might need food. They might need something else, right? So, just uh it’s just what it is, right? So, the summer, you know, it’s more or less uh dead time for me. But, I you know, I’ve taken the last few uh weeks have, you know, my office some. I’m rearranging some other stuff. I got to do some outside stuff. So, I’ve been taking a chill. Uh like we’re we’re seeing record number of views on the channel right now from EverQuest Legends. And uh you know, I I do plan on doing a lot of EverQuest Legends content. So, if you uh if you’re don’t want to see that, you’re going to be for uh disappointment. But uh I’m planning on doing an August channel update. I haven’t done one in a while. I’ll lay out a lot more of these plans in a more concrete uh PowerPoint slide. Uh but that’s that. That is uh like the end of this. I just want to put an end cap on this in the playlist. So, if somebody’s watching it and they’re like, “Oh, is there ever going to be something new?” Then well, the answer is no. >> [laughter] >> The answer is 100% no right now. Uh but uh you know, you never know what is going to happen when uh I get bored and I see the next shiny thing. So, uh with that said, you know, I appreciate everybody who watched the streams, watched the the the videos, you know, the everybody that came and joined the server and played and stuff like that. I feel like a total total cuz I haven’t played, right? And I know that’s, you know, reason why a lot of people play, but I truly don’t play the game as much as people think I do. It’s uh I’m I’m very I am very uh very optimized in how I play. I pop in, I do exactly what I wanted to do for that that session, and then I pop out. And uh that’s just just how it is. I try not to waste my time. That’s why I box mostly because when you add people to the the thing, you know, if there’s it’s not that it’s a waste of time when you add people. It’s you know, other people have different priorities in what they’re doing. And I’m I when I play, I I’m almost 100% business uh when it comes down to it, right? Uh I don’t I don’t I know exactly where to go. I know exactly what I’m going to do. I don’t I am I’m prepared, if you will. And not everybody’s as prepared as I can be. So, you know, that’s where boxing it makes it easier. That’s why I I get frustrated on TLPs, because a lot of people are not prepped and ready to do exactly what you want to do. Like, you join a group and you then go take a for 30 minutes. I mean, this is like, what? Like, it’s it’s honestly the weirdest thing in the world, but uh you know, oh, I’m always prepared. So, that is that, you know, I appreciate everybody who watched this the you know, everything like I said. But, uh thank you very much. Uh and please have a fantastic day.
