Master Yael - WAR / ENC / CLR - d4 solo

Master Yael at difficulty four with Warrior, Enchanter and Cleric, a fight I called easy before parsing it at 238 DPS. The level 43 pet does about 19,000 of it, the Beastlord AI slows and plagues me the whole way, and the build needed two Sacred Echoes and never touched Promised Renewal.

Master Yael at difficulty four with Warrior, Enchanter and Cleric, and the easiest of these fights by my own count. I do not know why I left him almost to the end, only that this is the order the videos came out in. The parse averages 238 DPS, the fight is long rather than dangerous, and the build needs two Sacred Echoes and a handful of reapplied damage over time effects. The most interesting thing in it is the Warrior's health regeneration in combat, which I put at close to 200 every six seconds.

The Setup

The same bar as every other video in this set.

  • Same spells as the rest of the series. Promised Renewal, Sacred Echo, Discordant Mind, Ward of the Divine, Shiftless Deeds, Allure, Tashani, Mesmerization, Pacify, Augmentation, Clarity, Improved Invisibility and Grasping Embrace. The captions spell several of these differently, so I have used the spellings from the Lady Vox video.
  • A summoned pet, not a charm. There are not many mobs to charm here, so it makes no difference. I had just taken the pet to rank four, which puts it at level 43, and I wanted to see how that goes.
  • Gear is nearly unchanged. A handful of plus 10 pieces, among them the neck, mask and breastplate, with the ear and ring at 6, so almost the same loot as last time.
  • Offensive stance with Overchannel. Your results will vary with how you play, and this is how I played it.
  • One macro on button four does the pet attack, taunt, disarm, heroic leap, rage, scare undead and the Cloak of Flames click. A couple of leftover hotkeys from another profile are still on it, because hotkeys are not stored separately per build.

The Fight

Clear the add, debuff him, then let it run.

  • Go straight in and kill the add first. I had already killed one that was standing there from waiting around, and there is another out in the room somewhere.
  • Tashani, then slow him. Those go on before anything else.
  • Wand of dispel to strip what he has on him. I used it early to clear his buffs, then went back to the usual rotation.
  • Sacred Echo on myself and everything in. The pet was doing about 90 DPS live and I was at 226, which is where the parse ends up near.
  • This is a very long fight, because the build does not have high DPS. I am hitting, slashing and bashing the whole time, and it is small damage that will not get you into trouble.
  • A few power strikes speed it up a little. They are not the best strikes in the game, but they help him die faster.

What Yael Does to You

A Beastlord AI that will not stop slowing.

  • He is the lord of beasts and he slows constantly. I was slowed and plagued through the fight, and it is annoying more than dangerous.
  • He ran close to out of mana, and once that happened the fight eased off.
  • At one point I was carrying eight counters of the slow, so I clicked the Cloak of Flames a few times. I have not worked out exactly what it removes.
  • My Warrior regeneration in combat reached 198, and my health climbed about 200 every six seconds. I read the caption as a steadfast or fortitude effect, and for a Warrior I think it is the best thing in the fight.
  • Keep the damage over time effects up and reapply them, since they are probably the best damage type this build has. I did it a sixth time here, and a little overlap is worth it.

What the Parse Says

Low damage, but not as low as I expected.

  • 238 DPS across the fight. I read 62,000 damage as the total with the pet inside it, though the captions leave that unclear.
  • The pet did 19,000 at an average of about 73. It kicks, stuns and has a few procs, so the breakdown is a mixed bag.
  • Main hand was 60 to 70 DPS and the off hand 49. Slash, kick and a stun make up about 17 together, which is pretty bad.
  • Divine parry gave 36 DPS and the damage over time effects another 23, so neither is nothing next to the weapons.
  • It is low against other builds, and I said so on camera. I also think it would improve if I gave the pet a better weapon.

Healing and Uptime

Barely needed.

  • I was healed twice by Sacred Echo, and I checked the logs afterwards to be sure it was no more than that.
  • The blessing that heals me on each hit gave about 2,500, almost as much as the two Echoes together. I read the caption as Lord Commander's Blessing, the same reverse damage shield from the Lady Vox video. Some life force healing sits on top.
  • Promised Renewal was never cast. I did not watch my health except once, when I pushed.
  • Tashani and Shiftless Deeds were up the whole fight, so I did not miss a beat with either.
  • Grasping Embrace had some downtime in the gaps, but I still supported it fairly well. The blood boil effect did not land until the very end, so it ran shorter than it could have.

The Pet and What Drops

A two-hander is the open question.

  • The pet is using a plus 10 weapon whose name I cannot make out. It would do better with the two-handed weapon paladins get, which has a ratio of 1.6, and I could not remember what it is called.
  • I have not made a Paladin, so I never levelled one, and I cannot check the name from here.
  • He dropped a large dust mote, a void dust mote, a servant's tooth and a cloth robe. I am reading the names as the captions give them.
  • The week this video is out, a new zone should arrive, the one called Necropolis. I plan to level the Necromancer there.
  • I did my weekly void reward and I am holding off on the rest. Some of them are close, and I got three masks last week right after upgrading mine, which annoyed me. This week I will probably upgrade the ring or earring.

Yael at Difficulty Four

  1. Kill the add first, then pull Master Yael.
  2. Tashani and a slow before anything else.
  3. Use the wand of dispel to strip his buffs.
  4. Sacred Echo on yourself, then offensive stance and Overchannel.
  5. Keep the damage over time effects rolling. Reapply them and accept the overlap.
  6. Expect a long, safe fight. Two Echoes was all I needed.
  7. Do not count on charm. There is nothing worth charming here, so a rank four pet is fine.

Congratulations on completing Master Yael, difficulty four, solo warrior, enchanter, cleric. Well, this should be a pretty easy fight. I will use peta . I just leveled him up to rank four, so he’s level 43. Just to see how it goes, right? There are n’t very many mobs to charm here , so it doesn’t really matter. I use the same set of spells as in all of these videos. As you can see, here: Prompt update, sacred echo. Discordant Mind, Divine Protection, Inactivity, Allure, Tash, Mesmerization, Calm, Augmentation, Clarity, Enhanced Visibility, Vi Guard. and gripping hugs. My equipment is pretty much the same as always . Cleric’s mace, bowstring 10, warrior’s breastplate 10, neck 10, mask 10 , ear 6, ring 6. So, almost the same loot . The fight will go like this: we go straight here. Let’s kill this guy first, okay? He is the first thing we need to eliminate. I’ve already killed the devil because I’ve been sitting there for so long. He went there. So he’s already dead. So, we’ll just kill this one, and there’s another one out there somewhere. There you go. Now we’ll do this: we’ll put a bunker on it . Let’s switch to the channel, to Master Yael, throw the tash, and then slow it down. And while that’s happening, let’s do this. That’s it. Then I will use my wand of dispel. Let’s try to remove all this ugliness from it. That’s it. Perfectly. Now I’m going to switch to the channeler for a second, update the bunker, because it’s going to run out soon. But we’ll move on to nuking to defeat it faster . I will use the sacred echo on myself. And now we’re going all in on Master Yael. As you can see, my pet does around 90 DPS. I’m giving out 226, so not bad. Not bad at all . I’m in attack mode and overchannel. So your results may vary depending on your play style . As you can see, I was slowed down and plagued. I spam my button four, which has several attack bindings—it’s a macro for the pet attack command, taunt, disarm, heroic leap, rage, scare undead, and my 10 flame cloak, which is also a clickable shield of integrity, right? And I think I still have some ” blade stops” there, but I don’t think they’ll work because this thing here intercepts them. This is just left over from one of my other profiles. It was there. Another hotkey in it. You know, they’re not stored separately. So, as you can see, this is an extremely long fight, right? Apparently, this build doesn’t have a high DPS. And, you know, we have what we have, right? We’re hitting, slashing, pushing all the time. But overall, it’s a small DPS, but you won’t have any problems. Now I’m going to do a few powerful strokes to speed up the process a bit . These aren’t the best punches in the world, but they help you beat him faster. But the thing that gets in the way is that he’s constantly—he’s the lord of beasts—he’s constantly slowing down, right? Pretty annoying AI, but it’s almost out of mana, so it’ll be fine. I think we only had treatment twice. Not 100% sure. We’ll check the logs in a minute, but I don’t think I’ve been treated more than twice, somehow. Now let’s apply ” until” (time-based effects) to it again for the sixth time. And then I’ll go into a ” steadfast” state, right ? Fortitude is great for a warrior, as you can see, because we get up to 198 health regeneration in combat. And now you see, my health points are increasing by about 200 every 6 seconds, it’s just crazy. So this is a pretty nice little feature . Here we are, slowed down again. We have eight ticks, or eight counters, so I need to click this cloak a few times while we’re doing this, but as you can see, I’m almost completely regenerating the damage taken now. I’ll reload the ” hug” and go into battle again, okay? Dota is probably the best type of damage in this game, so it’s always a good idea to keep them active. And you know, there might be a little overlap, but it’s worth it. Well, it seems there aren’t any AEs worth buying right now. I’m bored. When I get bored, I look at other things. Nothing valuable, so I’m collecting it. So, next week, okay, well, I think, the week this video comes out , there should be this new, new zone for, uh, the Necropolis or whatever it’s called. And in that zone I’m going to level up the necromancer . This is my plan. That’s all. Master Yale has been defeated. We received a large dust mote, a void dust mote, a servant’s tooth, and a cloth robe. That’s it. Let’s look at the damage. The fight was quite easy . Let’s turn off the overlay. Meeting with Master Yale. Let’s zoom in on this to see it better. OK. So our DPS is 238, we did 62,000 damage. Our pet did 19,000 damage with an average of about 73, right? Let’s look at this, break down the metrics just to see, okay? So, pet chops, dissects, uses anger, kicks, stun, holy power, and sets on fire. So that adds a little fun. Now I feel like if we pumped it a little more, to the max, we would get a little more DPS. My pet is currently using Bengal 10. If I gave him a paladin weapon, let me find it, oh, I know, I have it . It’s in my bag. Is this one? No, it’s a one-handed weapon. There is a two-handed one that paladins get. She has a ratio of 1.6 . I just don’t remember what it’s called. But I have n’t created a paladin yet, so I haven’t leveled it at all , because it does n’t matter anymore. Yes, I don’t know what it’s called. There is a two-handed weapon there. It seems that the ratio of 1.6 is what comes out as a result. So, not a bad weapon. But our damage: 60-70 DPS with the main hand, 49 DPS with the second hand, 17 DPS on a slash, kick, and almost a stun, right? Well, that’s pretty bad. Quite low DPS compared to some other builds. We get 36 DPS from divine parry, and the periodic damage gave 23 DPS. So, it’s not that bad. We were healed twice. We used arcane scar twice, uh, arcane echo, and, uh, the warlord’s blessing cured us of what? 2500? Almost as many as those two echoes. And then we added some life forces to it. We never used the update promise. I did n’t even honestly look at my health, except for that one time, well, you know, those times when I pushed it. So, not bad. So, as you can see, we had Tashan and uh, the Nimble Steeds active the whole time. So we did n’t miss a beat with that. And with the clingy hugs, we had a little downtime in those little gaps, but we still supported them pretty well. And then the blood boiling, uh, didn’t work until the very end. So we didn’t support it as long as we could have. This is our left hand effect. Uh, you can see, uh, well, pretty good overall. We remained in an offensive stance. We were switching to, uh , therapeutic at some point, I just don’t see the purple, I don’t see the purple line here. She should be somewhere, but she’s not there. Uh, but you know, it’s not that bad. Overall, I mean, Master Yel is the easiest boss, right ? I don’t know why I left it almost to the end, but, uh, that’s the order it came out in. So, uh, it’s not that bad. Not bad at all, right? Okay, so that was Master Yale, difficulty four. Uh, you know, good time, easy emptiness mode every week, here’s a quick look. So, we got our emptiness. I haven’t done the internal, internal rocky odds yet. So I’ll wait because some of them are pretty close, and I got three masks last week. After I upgraded mine, so I was a little pissed about it, but, uh, I’ll probably upgrade my ring or, uh, earring this week, so here we go. Thank you very much for watching and have a fantastic day.
